Proof that Harry is a complete idiot!

When Harry wanted to speak to Sirius after seeing Snape's memory, why didn't he just use the two-way mirror? Duh!

Yeah, when he got it he decided that he never wanted to use it. Apparently he was successful in forgetting about it, so he wouldn't be tempted.

I think it's supposed to be ironic...

He stowed it away without opening it and finding out what it was -- vowing never to use it, because he didn't want to be the one who put Sirius in danger.

Okay, so Harry forgot. Why didn't Sirius bring up the mirror when Harry talked to him?

I think that JKR makes the characters more real then we expect, the fact that thye forget important things like that and stuff, yeah, thats realism...and also a part of irony plays in that too.

Harry stowed the package away without ever even looking at it so it would have been easy to forget you had something in your trunk if it was stowed away like that.

Iagree.

Me too. I agree with Daxxa too, I think JK's writing was really good because it made the reader forget about ti too, well it worked for me anyway!

He also did not care to remember about it, as to his thought the package may lead Sirius to come out from his hide and go after Snape. (The point is, he totally forgot)

i thought the same thing but he obviously forgot about it with everything going on secondly it would have made there to be no reason for him to go to the ministry thus ending the story right there lol

It's what makes him human. He makes mistakes, as do we all. Preferably, I wouldnt be nearly as happy with the series if Harry were a perfect hero who never made poor decisions. It reflects real life...and that's something I really value.

Yeah, me too. In fact, this is one of the reasons why I prefer the books than the movies. The movies seem to make Harry look like a perfect hero.

Re: Proof that Harry is a complete idiot!

Harry didn't want to open it because he didn't want Sirius in trouble and he didn't know what a two-way mirror was until he opened the package.
Do you think Sirius needed to have his mirror with him so he could talk to Harry and that's why he might not have mentioned it when Harry saw him through the fireplace.

Sirius probably thought Harry knew about the Mirror but might have thought Harry didn't have his mirror with him.
