Who saved Harry, Hermione and Sirius?

(Sorry if i write wrong, I'm from Chile)

Dumbledore told Hermione to use her time-turner in order to save Sirius, while Buckbeak never died. Right? Then, Harry used Patronus in the lake, saving Siruis, Hermione and himself blasting off dementors.

Snape was knocked out, Ron... injured, Hagrid drunk and Peter... nobody knows. Dumbledore was with Cornelius Fudge (i think) at that moment. But, in the original story, which was not told in the book, someone had to have saved Harry, else he would have been murdered by dementors.

So, someone saved Harry the first time, and then Harry went back to past and saved himself.

I think that Dumbledore knew what was happening outside and saved Harry, Sirius and Hermione, then he planned the entire time-turner story, so in the final story (in the book), he never got involved.

Re: Who saved Harry, Hermione and Sirius?

It's like a weird circular effect of time: the 'future' Harry saves the 'present' Harry on both occasions. It's like the first set of events 'know' that Harry and Hermione will relive that same period of time and do what is needed for things to work out.

These time paradox things are definitely pretty mind boggling . I hope what I wrote makes some sense... :)

Re: Who saved Harry, Hermione and Sirius?

I have a theory about this:
Assumption1: If Harry did not save himself then Harry Potter, Sirius, and Hermione would have been kissed.
Assumption2: Lack of confidence and/or happiness prevent Harry, up till the lake incident, from performing the true patronus.
Fact1: Harry Potter's body carries two souls inside: Harry Potter's and Voldemort's.
Fact2: Harry Potter states the reason he was able to perform a true patronus was because he knew he could do it since he saw himself do it previously.
Theory: Assuming the above, it seems possible that not realizing that Harry Potter contained two souls, the dementor's kiss may have only taken one of the souls. By chance or whatever reason, Voldemort's soul got sucked out and destroyed by the dementors leaving Harry Potter with only his soul in his body. Having a soul ripped from his body most likely would cause Harry to pass out as it did in the 7th book when Voldemort managed to kill his own soul. Harry then wakes to find out Hermione and Sirius had their souls ripped from their bodies. Dumbledore gives Harry the hint to use the time turner that Hermione has been using to go back and save them all. Unfortunately Harry could not save the Hippogriff in time by himself, which is essential to saving Sirius from the dementor kiss later on. Fortunately Harry does manage to get to the lake without trouble to see the dementor attack. Seeing as Harry is now without Voldemort's soul, happiness may come a lot easier to Harry as he no longer has Voldemort's soul to bring him down and thusly is able to perform the true patronus without fail. As a result he manages to save himself, Hermione, and Sirius (temporarily) from being kissed by the dementors. Unintentionally, this also managed to save Voldemort's soul within Harry. However, since the new Harry saw himself perform the true patronus this gave him the confidence to perform it himself. Now that he saved Hermione, the infinite loop starts. The perfect loop then seals itself in place after one successful cycle with the new Hermione and Harry by saving themselves, the hippogriff, and Sirius and then returning back to area where they started.

Re: Who saved Harry, Hermione and Sirius?

It's really not that hard to figure out. Time travel in Prisoner of Azkaban makes perfect sense when you think about it. In the book , it uses the "causal loop" theory for time travel. The "causal loop" theory says that when you time travel, whatever you do in the past already happened exactly that way. It's impossible to cause a time paradox because you always were in that point in time to make that event happen.

A great example is the first Terminator movie, where Kyle Reese traveled back in time to save John Conner's mother from being killed by the T-101. The T-101 wanted to kill her so that she would never give birth to John, so that John couldn't save the day in the future. By time traveling, Kyle fell in love with John's mother, and he ended up becoming John's father. The implication from the movies is that it always happened that way. There was no "original timeline." There was one timeline, and the events were set, and unable to be changed. The ironic part of the movie was that the machines thought they could send the T-101 back in time to kill John's mother, but they didn't realize that time travel didn't work that way, and time traveling would just set the events that made John Conner a great soldier in motion.

That's what happened in Harry Potter. There was no "original timeline." There was one, unchangable timeline. So to answer your question, "Who saved Harry, Hermione, and Sirius?" The answer is, Harry did!

The less said about "Cursed Child" and the mediocre "Terminator" sequels the better. Both of those messed up the continuity drastically, and I don't consider them canon to their respective franchises.
"HARRY! DID YA PUT YER NAME IN DA GOBLET A FIYA?" he asked calmly.

Re: Who saved Harry, Hermione and Sirius?

Cursed Child sucks Jack thorne. Stop writing with your fake account... Causality principle of course. If you change time because of some causes, it happens in that loop always. Even if you understand and try to change occasions, those occasions happened because you tried to change them.
