Should Have Recast Golden Trio

I don't think the people who cast Dan, Rupert and Emma thought they would be casting the trio for every....single..... HP film EVER. It was a mistake IMO to keep all three around

^ Um . . . . maybe but I disagree. They did a pretty good job. I mean they are child actors. They can't be expected to be as good as adults, right? If they are then that's a bonus.

But then you would have a whole bunch of people complaining about the fact they changed him and that it is not the same. It is one of those lose lose situations - you will always have people who think that he only looked like Harry for a short time and then there are those who would have been annoyed if they recast someone else later down the track.

Re: Should Have Recast Golden Trio

Why didn't they get a boy with green eyes, messy hair and a girl with buckteeth.
How about movie Gilderoy Lockhart, Viktor Krum, Bloody Baron, The Dursleys.
Lockhart was comical than annoying, Viktor how many lines did he have? we didn't see him playing Quidditch, Bloody Baron a pirate?

The Dursleys, Dudley was a brat in the first film but they really aren't as nasty as the books.
Would Vernon say "right you are, Harry." when Harry said "no post on Sundays.'
In the book Vernon said "No post on Sunday"
Vernon didn't even say to Dudley not to eat anything Hagrid has. Dudley in the film was eating some of Harry's birthday cake because Vernon didn't say.

Dumbledore 1 - Richard Harris looked like him but shouldn't have played him.
Dumbledore 2 - Goblet of Fire.
The original Vincent Crabbe had to leave why not a new Crabbe?
Why was the Fat Lady only in two films. Maybe they should've also put the hole they have to climb in.
Snape, Sirius, Peter, and Remus were supposed to be in their 30s.
Lily and James were 21 when they were murdered.

Re: Should Have Recast Golden Trio

Dan is the perfect Harry. Also I heard he had a reaction to the green eye contacts but otherwise he's perfect as Harry. I can't see anyone else. Rupert is an amazing Ron - he's also scared of spiders and his line to Dan "You have no family" sent chills down my spine. Emma is a bit too pretty for Hermione but her acting more than makes up for it. I also thought Richard Harris was a much better Dumbledore because he was more warm than Michael Gambon.

Re: Should Have Recast Golden Trio

Richard Harris wanted to retire from acting.
People always mention that Goblet of Fire.

Watch Prisoner of Azkaban that's Dumbledore, completely different to Goblet of Fire.
Harry had the book hair in Prisoner of Azkaban even if it wasn't black.

Movies have lots of flaws, casting is not one of them. They did great job as child actors.

When a director specifically says that he couldn't shoot the film how he wanted to because he had to work around the actors, that is not a great job.
