| I'd assume it just became normal again once the Stone was gone, they probably took Fluffy away and left it. |

Well, they put a really big leash on him. Then Hagrid pulled, while Filch pushed.
Or they used magic, whichever was easier.

I have also wondered what happened to Fluffy. A giant three-headed dog just didn't disappear...maybe...
