My question is about the world that Harry and his friends enter once running through the barrier. Two questions actually.
Is it still England?
Do some of the Hogwarts Express passengers actually live in that land,or do they all have to enter through the barrier?

Personally I think its definatley still England, although i think Hogwarts is in Scotland - hence the long train journey and the harsh weather.

I dont think they actually pass to another land, i think they pass into a platform hidden with magic so they are not seen by muggles and nor is the train.

They are my thoughts anyway Smile

I think it would be cool to get a team of explorers and they all read the HP books and take the hints about where this place would be and go see if it really is there

The Station is supposed to be King's Cross. It is an actual train station in London. The wizards go to the Hogwarts express through the barrier to platform 9 and three quarters so that the muggles wont see them. The train seems to go north probably somewhere in Scotland. I beleive the train, Hogsmeade, and Hogwarts are all magically concealed from the Muggle world.

I agree, old man, what gets me is that they (Harry, the Weasleys and Herminone) never see any of the other students also hurrying for 9 3/4 when they are.(at King's Cross)

The platform is like a hidden space/chamber/whatever and it's part of the station, just like Grimmauldplace 12, which muggles can't see, but it's there...
