a school where there are other ppl lol. i want tips on things like how to not look retarded or be a nerd and that kinda of stuff oh yea and study tips too

Yeah nothing wrong with being a nerd. have you been home schooled or private schooled until now? anyway...pick classes that interest you. oh and if you can take any for college credit, do it. study tips...use your study halls or any spare moments in class to do your homework. so you don't have to do it at home lol.

Oh that's right, Public in the US is what the Brits call... I think it's a grammar school? Haha
And what they call a public school is what a private school is for us,.

The best advice I can give you... be yourself. If you're nervous what the other kids are wearing, then go to the local stores and people watch. Then wear whatever you want. If you try to be somehitng you're not, you'll come off like a poseur and the kids will eat you alive.

Take whatever classes interest you. Don't worry about what is "cool." I'd rather you enjoy school and make new friends than be miserable because you wanted to do what everyone else was doing.

Oh, and smile. Always smile.

And do your homework!

And play nice with the other children.

And remember... I'd rather you be a nerd than a jerk.

I find it odd that you have Luna in your signature, and yet you are worried about what people think about you. If anybody seems to have a problem with you, quote Luna, "Don't worry. You're just as sane as I am."

Of course, I think that people always considered me a bit odd in school.

yeah, Luna never cared what people thought about her. She'd rather stay true to herself. She even marched right up to Harry and told him she believed him, even though it was the unpopular thing to do. She even defended the crumple-horned snorkack to Hermione, even though she had no proof, only her father's word. She proudly read her father's Quibbler upside down with with her wand tucked behind her ear. And she eventually made friends.... just by being herself. She was smart, and brave, and sweet. So if you're going to be like anyone, be like Luna. Wink

Just, be confident and don't let anyone take you down! That's what I do first day of a new school, where my best clothes for the first month and obtain all the inner confidence in the world! It leaves yo with this:

"I know Im better than you!" kind of feeling...Feels good!

Heres what i usly do: Walk up to the best girl, ask her out, or do something. Walk to the biggest kid and hit him as hard as you can. That way you wont get picked on Smile

although all of the acting your self stuff is admirable, it will most likely not happen. no one wants to be a geek and get picked on, then it just makes going to school crap, im not saying that you have to always try to be the coolest person in the world, but id say if people like you they wont really care what you do. and you will probably most likely make friend with the people that like the same things as you and not really do much with the other people. justr stick with your friends, and dont go parading around that you like stuff that is seen as lame by everyone else, keep it to yourself, its less complicated that way. try to make a few good friends straight away and then they should stick with you through anything.

PS this only applies if you live in england, i dont know what schools are like any where else

PPS, please for the love of god do not go up and punch someone on the first day! no matter how "hard" it may make you feel you will look like an utter dick!
