How can this important character not have a separate thread? He is destined to play an important role in book 7 I am certian. In addiiton to running away from Tonks, he will also likely head the Order.
I think he is perfect for hte job. While his intelligent, quiet, responsible, kind, caring and skilled magician traits are often cited, there is something else. He was also a first class Marauder.
Many feel that he just went along with the ringleaders, feeling guilty and not really wanting to participate. However, we see even as an adult, that was not likely the case. In POA one remembers that he caused a mound of gum to fly from a door lock and up Peeves nose before the ghost was sent spiraling away by his wand. Yes, still a mischievious man as he was a lad and a perfect candidate to lead, advise and be a huge force in the upcoming battle.

yeah its a possibility he will. i like him. he's a very nice guy. i think he will have a crucial role with the werewolves. he will be able to persuade them to join the good side and abandon voldemort.
but no i dont think he will leave tonks.

Me Neither.
He was a major character in book 3, then he came back in the background, so I think that he'll come back big in this book. Which, of course, would make me very happy.

The only thing I really hope is that he doesn't end up with Tonks. Man that would suck. Course I wouldn't like to see him waving goodbye to Harry as the hero takes off for his new life with Ginny on a train and Lupin is left alone in rags with no job and no money and no potion.
JKR likes Rem tho, so I don't think that would happen. I would rather him die and join his friends in the after-life. |

werewolves don't have cubs. They would have to bite the children into werewolvehood which is okay too.
I found Tonks obnoxious. Imagine waking up every morning to:
"Wotcher Remus! Weird Sister concert tonight?' |

I don't think he'll lead the order because he'll be too busy with the werewolves. Maybe he can get Slughorn to promise to make them all the wolfsbane potion if they join the Orders side.

mcgonagall will be busy with hogwarts, being the new headmsitress...
and lupin, the wolves,
and arthur, the ministry.
and kingsley, the muggle PM
and tonks, well, too young.
mad eye perhaps? after all, he was a good friend of DD>

I think Remus is finished with the wolves. He can lead now.
See the problem with Tonks is she is:
1. too young
2. too silly
3. too immature
For Remus.
There is no mate for Remus currently in the book. JKR should create one. I think she just searched around her list of characters and picked an available witch, Tonks. Sad stuff. |

I don't know. I like it that they're very different. Opposites attract, right? They are awfully cute together too. Remus probably needs someone really fun like Tonks, to loosen him up a bit. He works a lot. It would be good for him to have silly, immature fun.

Remus = mature, mischievious, fun. Reading books, long walks, good music, laughter among friends, talking of the past, dreaming of the future.
Tons = immature, silly, fun. Going to rock-n-roll concerts, finding new nose shapes, re-coloring her hair for a laugh, nosing through private things, bored with the past, dreaming of a rose colored future.
Remus + Tonks = disaster.
And bella...before you are disagree with me: CRUCIO!!!!

Geez, I hate to contradict myself...but um...I just saw OOTP and well, Tonks is a babe. So while I still don't want Tonks and Remus together, my reason has changed. I want her for myself  |

I think that tonks should be more beatiful in the films, but anyway.
I think remus and tonks are lovely together. remus is one of my favourite character, and I like tonks too, so I really wait what happens to them in the seventh book |

On a more serious note:
yes remus lupin and tonks go together. opposites attract. tonks can inject some fun bubbly attitude in lupin's serious character. and lupin can make tonks act a little more serious.
