How did vapourmort get into that form? how long had he been like that?

How did he get into his ugly baby form? Wasn't there something in the book about his drinking a potion? With Nagini's venom, and something else, I can't remember. I don't have the book with me right now. Razz

Maybe distroying the diary horcrux had something to do with it.

On the night when he killed Harry's parents, he was turned into somekind of spirit/ghost-like-thing. He was able to gain a solid form by sharing a body with someone, in the way he did with Quirell.
When wurmtail returns to him, (end of book 3), wurmtail makes a potion from nagini's milk/venom. Drinking this gives him a solid form, but it's very fragile. (If he stops drinking the potion, he will be a spirit/ghost-like-thing again)
He couldn't have made the potion before because he needed a body. He needed wurmtail because the body he gained wasn't strong enough to make the potion...

gives you a general idea. and if you finished all 6 books so far then you will now. wormtail and voldy talk about how he needs nagi to survive..other wise he would die.

yes because wormtail trys to leave to find someone other than harry to bring his master back. but voldy new wormtail was just trying to run. then he states how he needs feeding to maintain the "health" he has.

also. at the end when harrys on voldemorts father tombstone he tells harry how "under wormtails clumsy care" he was able to get his body back.

he might. because the more his soul was torn apart the more dead he looked. i duobt he cared about his looks at any rate.
