Sorry if this has already been said, and I didn't really know where to put this topic so I thought under Half-Blood Prince would be a good idea.
I was just reading the second book again and Dumbledore said something I thought was interesting, it may have just been applying to that time and what was happening then, but I can't help but think it could also apply to his death.
In Chamber of Secrets page 263-264 of the paperback version Dumbledore says this while being taking away by Lucious Malfoy because he is being suspended.
'"However," said Dumbledore, speaking very slowly and clearly so that none of them could miss a word, "you will find that I will only truly have left this school when none here are loyal to me. You will also find that help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it."'

I would tend to think he means he has a legacy.
Dumbledore will imo be used as an "icon" to the same degree as Harry himself by the good side.
A great wizard with no crime against him, brutally murdered......proof if it was needed how ruthless and monsterous LV can be.
In terms of actually living on, I wouldn't hope so, because tbh It'd ruin the story, and Dumbledore's legacy for me.
He died fighting darkness......putting him back in the story would ruin the Charachter for me.

Although Dumbledore is dead, in body form, his portrait is still at Hogwarts and still give help to those who ask.

Well, my views are different... I think he is alive still... I think that Harry is going to ask for his help and Luna will help him... Remember her saying something about behind the veil, well that, I think, will have something to do in the 7th book. If you read my long post about DD Then you'll know why I think he is alive or planned his death... I worked hard on it lol

well this is what i found out on the info....
When harry is visiting his parents graves he turns around to go back to hargrid (who was with him) and see's dumbledore from the past. Dumbledore tells harry that he used some kind of locket (NOT A TIME TURNER) to get here and he knew that snape was going to kill him because of this. Therefore he set an auto message to harry which told harry to TRUST SNAPE.
that's what i looked up on the internet and it seems fairly acurate to me, your thoughts?

the idea of dd coming back to life isnt nice.
im also not a big fan of his coming back to clarify things through the portrait
i think its his memory, his works... those things will be impt.. but dd the person or the soul will rest in peace and never visit harry again.. unless harry dies as well.
