the trio did it in DH, but quirellmort did it much better, flawlessly (except for the fact that nothing was there) he didn't bust out on a dragon, and if he had help from a goblin he didn't turn on him.

if you remember from DH Griphook says that the security on empty vaults are quite loose and quirrel had voldemort on his side which i think would give him a definant advantage

He didn't rob Potters vault though, he robbed one of the Hogwarts ones. And Dumbledore probobly made sure he could get in to see that he had moved the stone to the school - to ultimitly set up the meeting of Harry and Voldermort. _________________ The boy who lived marries the wrong girl.

yeah but the goblin said that if anyone tried to touch it and they weren't goblin then they would be sucked in through the door and left there until the search the vaults. (every 10 years) _________________
Remember though Lord Voldemort was with Quirrell, so he could have imperiused a goblin to let them in, find out that the vault was empty and leave, very simple - much like what Harry, Ron and Hermione do in DH _________________ The boy who lived marries the wrong girl.

I think Wormtail did something to him in between SS/PS and GoF that gave him a body. That's just my theory, though, not fact. _________________ ^made by Fiendfyre

You're also forgetting that in DH they got caught because the goblins had "special instructions" about the Lestrange vault. They realised something was up before they'd even gotten near the vault. _________________
