Casting Call Pro UK has several actors and actresses listed for roles in Half-Blood Prince, and one of them may suggest how the film opens up.
Teresa Mahoney, pictured left, has been cast as "Sofie" in "Boardroom - Opening Scene". This leads us to believe that Half-Blood Prince's opening may stay true to the book.
Other casting includes a Slytherin Student, a Death Eater, and a Slughorn Ball Graduate. |

hmmm I am not sure what they mean by the boardroom...what scene would this be? I think HPB stars with the prime minister's office then goes to bella and narcissa at snapes after whihc it is harry and dumbledore goign to slughorns....what boardroom are they talking about......the minister's office?

Sofie... there is no Sofie in any of the books. I'm guessing thatis what they're just randomly calling a character in the movie that so they the film makers know who they're talking about... instead of Person #1.
Boardroom opening scene... Perhaps, instead of the Prime Minsters scene, they're ging to have a boardroom with the muggle prime minister or something. Scrimgeour wasn't cast, we know that... but maybe the muggle one was... O.o I can sort of picture a boardroom meeting with the muggle gov't tring to figure out what the heck is going on... but that would mean more characters than Sofie... I mean.. they might as well have cast Scrimgeour and did a scene with him.
Who is this Sofie and is anyone else wondering where Shewho disappeared to, again? I think there might be a connection....

For instance, if she turns out to be a girl who went to school with Lily, then they could have used Mary, a girl who was mentioned in the books. Sort of like how they cast some random blonde kid and instead of just calling him Dennis, they called him Nigel.
