i dont know why i have been wondering about this,...

we know what happened to hermione's parents.. we know what happened to harry's pet.. Sad

and ron's pig ..weasleys must be taking care of him..

but what happened to crookshanks??????

Ron was probably more loving towards Crookshanks since he tried to eat Scabbers, which turned out to be a Death Eater, and welcomed him into the new Weasley family. Or, he ran away.

i could have sworn crookshanks was a he!!

as for what happened to him i have no idea! i'm annoyed that he was never mention because he was one of my favourites out of the pets.

Crookshanks is a HE... when hermione buys him she explains why noone would take HIM. Anyway Crookshanks would have been dead by the epilogue of book seven after all he wasnt a kitten m\when Hermione got him was he? How long do cats live anyway?

but crookshanks was only half cat, so he might live longer. and i had a cat that lived till she was 20, so it is possible he was still alive, but he'd be an old and decrepid cat.

crookshanks could stay at hogwarts in gryff common room to stay safe is what i meant.

hermione never went bk to hogwarts..i doubt snape would have let a cat stay in hogwarts without the owner... hogwarts isnt a pet shop...

I could have sworn that Sirius kept referring to that cat as a she in PoA, but the lexicon says Crookshank's is a he. I'll look up the part where Sirius talks about him when I get home.

and why cant it? you dont think the gryffies or house elves would take care of it? it would be meaner to leave the cat in harms way.

she possibly might live in burrow...i dont understand.. why would a cat live in hogwarts when its mistress itself isnt there...

Crookshanks is not an ordinary cat. He is intelligent and can live for himself. For all we know, he could have been laying low in the dark forest.

As smart as he was, he would not have been able to surivive in Gryffindor tower alone. He would still need someone to let him in and out past the portrait so he coud go outisde to use the bathroom or someone to clean his litterbox if he had one. He would also need help in finding food during the cold winter months when foraging would be difficult. He might be smart, but he was also domesticated. Most cats do not survive the cold winter months alone. I think that the Weasleys held on to Crookshanks after the trio disappeared during the wedding.
He couldn't be with Hermione's parents, because she altered their memory. Crookshanks was seen in the books in DH while Hermione was still at the burrow chasing the garden gnomes. So there was no way he was with her parents.
