my answer to you would be hermione is too pretty in the movies. it really annoys me, they turned a girl who could care less how she looks into a sex symbol. but even with that, I agree with ravvy, this girl is prettier. but they're going to have a hard time convincing people of that.

| I agree with Arabella. Hermione is okay in the movies, but she's not that good-looking in real life. In the movies, she'd probably be better looking that Lavender. However, I'm not so sure in real life. The picture of Lavender is pretty close to what I pictured when I read that books. |

They're different kinds of attractive. Emma Watson is 'cute.' She has a relaxed looking girl-next-door quality, which I think is probably what you'd want for Hermione. (I don't recall Rowling ever saying point blank, "Hermione was an unattractive girl." And Hermione does let Madame Pomfrey fix her teeth, so obviously she cares a bit how she looks).
I really don't recall how Lavender is described in the series, but that actress playing her is quite striking.
