OK, I have a question about polyjuice potion.
In the 'Seven Potters' chapter, when
Spoiler:
they all transform into harry
they have their own voices.
But when the trio
Spoiler:
try to get the locket from the ministry and are transformed into runcorn, cattermole and hopkirk
they seem to have the voices of the people they've transformed into.
Can someone help explain this. Have I got it wrong? Maybe there's an ingredient to change voices? Sorry if this has been asked before. _________________ BM#4 EBM#3 - Faithful Follower Yas and Simmy - putting Luna on catwalks since 2008!
what makes you think they still had their voices in the seven potters chapter? I'm pretty sure they didn't. _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer
i think they do keep their voices, probably just a little slip up in continuity but do they get crabbe and goyles voices in CoS or do they just speak a bit deeper?

They don't keep their voices, but they do keep their accents (Fleur and Mundungus) since it's just the way they're used to talking, not their natural voice. _________________ "I can make things move without touching them. In CoS their voices change. In Deathly Hallows Fleur has her French accent, still. So, like kwidditch says, their voices change, but perhaps their accents stay the same, which is still kinda strange, if ya ask me. _________________ ^made by Fiendfyre

Thanks for wrapping it up. It was mainly because of Fleur which I assumed they kept their own voices. _________________ BM#4 EBM#3 - Faithful Follower Yas and Simmy - putting Luna on catwalks since 2008!

no it makes sense. they still retain their own brains, and the brain is where the inventory of sounds you know how to make are kept, so nothing should change accent wise. _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer
In the second movie when Ron talks while transformed into Goyle, Harry/Crabbe told him he had to sound more like Goyle. (Or was Ron was Crabbe? idk) anyways...that's about it. _________________ Yas and Simmy - Putting Luna on catwalks since 2008!

That's just the movie, though. It's always best to go by the books, for the most part. In the book Harry also doesn't need his glasses anymore when he changes. In DH, the 7 Potters needed glasses. In the 2nd movie, Harry, playing the part of Goyle, is still wearing glasses, leading up to Draco's line... about how he didn't know he could read, as talked about in this thread...
