Ok... so the Church is getting less popular here.
were one of the few countries which is still super catholic.
even gays and sexy dancers still go to church.
but recently the church condemned the gay people who attend this parade for the Blessed Virgin. they go there wearing gowns, and people dont really mind coz its their way of showing their devotion. but the church is pushing them away by saying that it is a form of mockery. and the ultraconservative society agrees, and gave the most ridiculous reason a person could ever think of: "Lets face it, God made only male and female". er, he also made gay people. the bible just doesnt say it.
and then now the church is moving on to condemn those sexy ladies who come out in game shows (even though they dont strip).

tsk tsk... bad move. i feel bad for Jesus that his church is so unlike him. i cant see Jesus rebuking gay people. he didnt even condemn the adulterous woman.. but his church does, and theyre not even adulterous.

thats why i strongly believe religion and church are ways for society to keep their people morally in check. true spirituality is what Jesus was teaching.

In my belief being gay is your own choice.. Which it is. I mean I cant go up to someone and tell them that they have to feel feelings for an opposet gender if those feelings just are not there.

With that said.. In my church we do not condemn gays.. They are as free to come to church as the next person. Of course the church feels that living that lifestyle is a bad choice and sin.. But in god's eyes.. all sin is the same.

In our society now we have learned to deal with gays and the other lifestyles as best we can. and now if you are gay that's just as normal as being straight. So I dont see why churches could condemn them and keep them away from church. wouldn't you think that they would want them in church to try and make them see reason.(Not me talking. the church i believe that people should do want they feel like doing and if that involves being with someone of the same sex then so be it.)

That is why I do not always agree with organized religion. I don't think the religions are the problem. I think the problem lies within the people themselves. Someone asked in another thread why there would be several churches of the same denomination in the same small town. This is exactly why.

yah.

i dont understand why we cant worship God the way we want to. i dont see the point of going to church, of not being able to get married in a garden setting or wherever we want, of not using contraception in the name of the lord, yadda yadda yadda....
