I mean when snape hit him in the head with that book his brains should've been knocked out, but he acted as if nothing happened when a tremendous thud was heard whent he book made contact with his head.

I read in an interview that the director told Alan Rickman to hit them harder, lol.

That scene always infuriated me because teachers are not supposed to hit students.

I don't think it really hit them that hard and there was just a sound effect added in afterwards. and although a blow to the head can cause damage, I doubt Rupert Grint would really allow himself to be bludgeoned to death on set.

Lol, 30 mph.

I'm sure when he hit his face on the car when they crashed into the Whomping Willow it's more than 30 mph.

Like I said, I doubt the book hit him hard enough to kill him.

Well, you keep saying "Ron." Ron wasn't hit, Rupert was. And Rupert didn't get a concussion.

no i know the hit was fake but the way it is made out in the movie, it seems as if rupert's character should have received damage

Haha, funny thread.

Though I must admit that when Snape hit Ron, Ron/Rupert didn't even flinch or anything. But it also infuriates me that teachers can hit students on the head. It sort of sets the double standards when Moody turned Malfoy into a ferret.

Transfigurations is different then hitting, and he wasn't allowed, if he was he wouldn't have waited for Umbridge to leave in order to hit him.

But that wouldn't have done much damage, maybe a headache.

Umbridge?
Umbridge wasn't in GoF, book or movie. Confused

She was talking about when Snape hit Harry. She just didn't specify that when she kept using the same pronoun without changing the noun.

Try reading it this way:

Transfiguration is different then hitting. Besides, Snape wasn't allowed to hit students, if he was he wouldn't have waited for Umbridge to leave in order to hit Ron.

mm .

i actually love this scene. i think it potrays how snape is feeling, as well as how the students take umbridge quite well.

however ive been hit over the head with a book like that before, and it doesnt actually really hurt. not enough to start rubbing your head, or in a state of confusion. and ruperts character would been hardly even hit, so it would of been even harder to fake a reaction to it.

also. lol.,

i love the fact that snape hits ron. although teachers are not suppose to hit students. it is a movie, and it is snape and ron/harry we are talking about,
and the general history between these 2 characters as we all know has been nothing like the sutdent/ teacher relationship.

Umbridge: You signed up first for the Defence Against the Dark Arts posts, am I correct?

Snape: Yes.

Umbridge: And you were unsuccessful?

Snape: Obviously.

Lol, I loved that part.

Anytime I even think of Alan Rickman saying "obviously" I burst into laughter. He is so incredibly great.
