((I'd like halfbloodprincess to join me in this RP as Snape))

Joe headed down the the Dungeons after dinner. Professor Snape had asked him to meet him in his office to 'talk' about something. Joe wondered why in the world he would want to discuss anything with a student and give up his time doing so, but his announcement of needing to meet seemed to be of importance.

"Ashter, I'd like to see you in my office after dinner on Monday evening. Don't be late. We need to have a talk."

The words echoed about Joe's head as he descended into the Dungeons to Snape's office. For one thing, Joe had figured out that this talk was arranged by the Headmaster himself.

'I wonder if this has anything to do with me?' Kaizer, the Fire Dragon inquired.

Joe shrugged as he reached Snape's office door. "It might..." he muttered to the dragon before raising his hand and knocked on the door hence.

*snape's office was dark and dank and had none of the warmth of dumbledore's office. it was covered in shelves containing pickled spider legs, dried doxy droppings, minced leeches, powdered newt tail, and what looked horribly like a bloody eyeball.*

sit down! the headmaster has given me the task of teaching you the art of...ah... extracting memories.

Joe entered the office of Professor Snape and did as he was told and sat down. Upon hearing that he was to be taught the art of extracting memories, Joe raised an eyebrow. "Legilimency, sir?" he inquired.

i did not expect you to read up on that, but nevertheless, it is a good thing you did. that way i do not have to go through every detail and we can progress at a quicker pace.

i assume, that you have an idea of how to extract a memory from someone?

Joe eyed Snape and nodded softly. "I do... But of course, never in practice, sir," he pointed out smoothly.

very well. but this time, id like you to do it with your own memory. dumbledore is afraid that the death eaters might be able to access thoughts that they shouldnt see.

"If I may, sir..." Joe began, gathering himself before continuing. "What thoughts would Professor Dumbledore be referring to?"

the whereabouts of your parents. your home. dumbledore thinks that they are the death eater's next target. so he wants you to extract that memory from your mind.

((Just a note, Joe's parents are already dead...))

Joe blinked over to Snape. Surely Dumbledore would've known about his parents long before Joe had arrived at Hogwarts.
