A Florida man died Tuesday after riding a roller coaster at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Jeffery Reed, 44, of Navarre, Fla., was found unconscious at the conclusion of the Expedition Everest ride at the resort's Animal Kingdom.
Disney personnel provided medical assistance to Reed, and he was transported to Celebration Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Orange County Sheriff's officials said.
Inspectors found no problems with the ride, Animal Kingdom's Expedition Everest, but Disney was keeping it closed pending further review.
Reed appeared to be conscious approximately 50 seconds before the conclusion of the ride, when a camera snapped his photograph, officials said.
The roller coaster is billed as a "high-altitude, high-speed train adventure" where "nail-biting hairpin turns hurl you forward toward the peak and then, just when you think it couldn't get more thrilling — backward!"
Officials said there was no trauma or injury to Reed.
"We offer the family our deepest sympathies and will provide assistance to them during this difficult time," Disney spokesperson Andrea Finger said. _________________
