Did anyone else imagine Grimmuald Place to look completely different than it was portrayed in the movie? I always imagined it as a shabby house, not an apartment building type place.

I agree, I thought it was a house that was just under a charm that made it invisible to Muggles. I didn't think it was something of an apartment.

I thought it was like a town-house...or a brown-stone or whatever.
(I'll have to read that part in the book again)

yah, it seemed a lot different to me also, though I can't really describe how I pictured it, because I don't really know...
Like the other person said, what hapenned with the secret keeper having to tell the person the adress for them to be able to see it, not it sliding out of the other houses!

It wasn't to me so much the apartment building part of it that bothered me because I did feel like it should mearly just squeeze out of thin air (I thought back to the Knight Bus when I thought of how it should appear) but I didn't like that they took away the secret keeper.

Yes...that was my main issue with the way Grimmauld Place was portrayed. They totally did away with the whole idea of the magical protection surrounding the place, the idea that there was a Secret Keeper...one person with whom the security of the entire order rested...

The way they did it in the movie, it seems like anyone magical could just find Grimmauld Place...which is going to be a problem when they get around to movie 7

Grimmauld Place wasn't much like I imagined it, but the overall effect was the same. I liked that the building was literally compressed between 11 and 13 Grimmauld Place. I, also, pictured it as its own building, a shabby house of sorts. But overall, I thought the way it was done was another way of looking at it, and still enjoyable. Smile

I hated the apartment type thing, I though it would be an actual house.. I mean who would want to inherit a crappy apartment.

Remember Sirius had no choice to live in a house on his own he was in hiding from Voldy and the Ministry
