Isn't it strange how harry thought he was normal for 11 years or so and he finds out he is a wizard but he doesn't like doing homework? If i found out i was i wizard i would be fascinated by the schoolwork at hogwarts. _________________

but its schoolwork. personally I would be excited but I could understand why he wouldn't want to do it. Last year they started a class for students who are going to study abroad next year, and I know people who had to take it, and they said they would have loved to have found this all out on their own but making it homework and worth credit made them not like it. _________________

I think that's the point... that to us it's magical and wonderful, but for them it's still work. The fact is, they're still students going through the same aches and pains we went through (and some still are) even though they are in a magical world. _________________

They would probably find it interesting at first but soon get annoyed by it.
Like at school we didn't have homework until yr 3 - when I was like 8 or something, and when we first got it I was like OH COOL HOMEWORK! Haha stupid I know lol...but then the novelty wore off and I think it would be the same at Hogwarts lol |

I remember that, too. My frst homework was in first grade. I thought I was so grown up with my black and white composition notebook and my freshly sharpened pencils... but yeah, 12 or so years later I was so burned out.
Plus, it is stressed that the magic is hard work. Potions is awful, Transfiguration is difficult... and all those long essays they have to write.
My favorite example is History of Magic. Harry even says that Professor Binns could even make Goblin Rebellions sound uninteresting. I had that problem all the time in school, something that could have been fascinating was made dull and boring. That is how it is with any subject if you get a boring teacher. _________________

Well yeah, but I think it would be great, too. But I meant for Harry it kinda sucks because of Snape. _________________

| I think potions would be so awesome if Snape didn't teach it. It would be so much fun I think. |

I would be amazed AND excited. I would look forward doing the work most times, lol. But I probably would get tired of it after a couple years or just too lazy. _________________

I didnt think it was strange... i mean yeah you are learning magic... but you have to put up with the dullness of a dully written book... to me homework is homework... it is very rarely that i would take enjoyment in my homework... and i tell ya it would be the same with me... _________________

I can't help but think the same thing. I know that if it were revealed to me that I actually had magical powers, and I could go to a school to develop them, I'd sit down to my homework every night with a smile on my face. _________________

I don't think that it is strange. People want to be amazed, but they don't want to put any effort into it. I would be devouring the books and eagerly doing the homework, but I am like that anyway. I am the exception to what is normal. _________________
