|

ASDA, a British supermarket chain owned by Walmart, hahave fallen out with Harry potter publisher Bloomsbery over the retail price of the book. ASDA say Bloomsbery's £17.99 price tag is too high!
What do you think is a fair price and how much are you willing to pay for the new book?

| in the USA, it runs around $30, which I think is pretty pricey. I got a deal on mine by ordering online from Amazon.com so i'm only paying $21.99 or something with shipping and handling. I've heard of other people getting it for less, too, but I think that for $30, it had better be pretty good. Unless it's massively big. But still, I agree. Too expensive. |

And now, would you believe it - Tesco and ASDA are selling the book for £5 - that's about $10 US I think!

I think the idea is "get 'em in the door and they'll spend, spend, spend"
The big supermarkets can afford to sell like this - i.e. making a loss on some products - which makes me like them even less! |

The Canadian price for the book is $45. I'm getting it from chapters.indigo.com and I'm only paying $32 with priority shipping. It's pretty expensive. _________________

Same here...
Also, the super markets around here always sell the potter books for 20 bucks but nobody goes there to buy the books because they don't think they have them. lol.
So yeah ! Go grocery stores !
They always have em cheap. _________________ Peace is a lie. There is only passion.

yeah its something like that here... close to $30... well it really depends on the demand for the book. the demand is REALLY high, we all know that. naturally the prices will soar up too. _________________

A bit expensive but you're getting 700+ pages to read so it's not really that big of a deal to me. _________________
