in the 3rd book when harry saves wormtail dumbledore says to harry "When a wizard saves another wizards life a special bond is put between them." But harry says to dumbledore i dont want a bond with wormtail dumble dore simply says their may be a time when you are glad you saved wormtails life. well i think that voldemort will be just about to kill harry but has voldemort shoots the evada kedavra i think wormtail will jump out in front of the spell then having him get killed and then vlodemort will have a second of shock then out of the blue harry wil pull the evada kedavra on voldemort and it will all be over! _________________ im here for speculation.
I dont think that it will happen exactly like that, but i do believe that dumbledore is right and Wormtail will somehow save harry's life. He might even see the error of his ways and will turn to the side of good. Some how, i highly doubt myself!
even if it does happen like that voldemort wouldnt express shock for he loves to kill. but if u remember in the order of phoenix dumbledore tells riddle that there are other ways of killing people than voldemort thinks. considering voldemort thinks along the lines of "crucio", "avada kedavra", and poisons. there will be something more harry needs and i think the link to finding it will come from peter pettigrew.
I agree that he will play an important role because of the life debt he owes Harry, but how this transpires is sure to be a clever suprise if we know JKR.

In the beginning of Chalice of fire Voldie uses the rat because that is all he had.....in the beginning of the halfblood prince the rat is a servent for Snape!!! Wormtail will soon see that the power struggle will start falling over to the Order of the Pheonix...... The guilt of Harry's parents death will be too much for him to handle, also the fact that Harry saved his life. I believe Wormtail will betray Voldimort. He may very well forgive his life for Harry......
I think it should be a big huge battle with snape, malfoy and wormtail fighting with harry. Maybe a couple of them will die saving him, but I want them all to be acknowledged as good first.
