hey Potterheads! Very Happy

que pasa? anyhoo, I recently bought the softcover version of HBP and
I noticed, among other things, is that JK made our beloved Hermione a
real, first-class, 100% BITCH! true, her know-it-all bossiness was on
occassion irritating, but a bit endearing. this book you want to punch
her in the mouth big time. not only is she a bitch, she is also jealous
and a hypocrite. the evidence:

1. she summons canaries to attack Ron then acts as catty and
shallow as Lavender and Parvati.

2. she is pissed that Harry (thanks to the Prince's notebook) is now
number one Potion Master. she also gloats when Harry is in trouble
with an assignment, but gets pissed off when he pulls out a beazor.

3. she tells Harry to drop his suspicions about Draco supposedly
joining the Death Eaters, but she WILL NOT drop hers about the
notebook and keeps harping on Harry to use the "official" one.

4. throughout books 4&5, she scolds Ron for being unduly jealous
about Viktor Krum and to cool it. yet, now she acts the same way
about Ron and Lavender. Harry even asks her to chill and she refuses.

5. she accuses Harry of spiking Ron's drink with Felix Felicis (even
though he actually didn't), yet she uses the Confundus charm on
a fellow student. (i.e. what Hermy does is justified, but if anyone
else does it, they are wrong.)

I may have touched on this in the HBP movie thread, but it bears
repeating that this is a very amusing turn for our little brain. she
goes from slightly bossy to downright BITCHY! not to mention
she is a total hypocrite, scolding people for their actions while doing
similiar actions herself. and she acts totally jealous about Ron being
with Lavender (after she tells him to chill about Krum) and about
Harry suddenly being the Second Coming of Snape (another Potion
whiz). of course, Ron even says "You just don't like not being the
best at something." (POA) so a little blurb about the changing
development about JK's little "brain with legs". thoughts or comments? Cool

Hermione is definatly a unique character. She knows what she wants and she stops at nothing to get it, even if it means being a bit bitchy, but when it comes to love (Ron) she acts like any normal girl would, using jealousy and witty attacks to win him over.

Don't be to thick, Neilmort.

1: Hermione told Ron in Goblet of Fire: "When there's a dance, ask me in the first place instead of a last resort!" She's made it clear (at least in her mind) that she likes him. ALSO, Ron's been a jerk to her on occation. She's let it slide, but this was the straw that broke the camel's back. She just about had it with him.

2: Were you NOT paying attention to the last five books? Hermione excels at everything she does, and gives up what she can't do. She felt like Harry was stealing her thunder. Look how she reacted to getting an "E" in D.A.D.A.

3: She's endured five years of Harry and Ron suspecting Snape and Malfoy of every evil plot imginable. Is it really that much of a surprise that she tries to shot this one down as quickly as possible?

4: She didn't understand what jeolousy was. Note that she stops talking about "Vicky" in Half-Blood Prince.

5: She (falsely) comes up with good reasons for what she did. I'll give you that one.

And when she thinks that he likes her, he starts snogging Berlinda. Everyone would be angry if that happens to them...

Jep... or the DADA exam in book three. (The boggart turns into prof. Anderling and tells her that she's failed everything...)
