If we're talking strictly about OotP (which I guess we are given the forum this is in) then I'm not sure atm.

OotP was my least favorite book for a while, and then as I reread it a couple times it got better. I loved the movie though, first time around. So as of right now for *this book only* I prefer the movie. When I reread the 5th book again (now that I've seen the movie), I expect my opinion will change, however.

I like the bit at the ministry, only because the order had like a white aura, and the death eaters had a black aura. Apart from that the movie was the worst one yet. The D.A scenes made me cringe. They left out loads of little things, that for me just added up to a huge piece of the movie left out.

But my greatest fault with the Harry Potter movies is Dumbledore. In the first two movies he was great, but then that actor died(r.i.p) and they had to recast, and Gambon is so crap, he doesn't even have a silver beard man.

Also what was with that bit at the beginning of the duel between D and V, they had some like kind if crappy priori incantatem thing going on, which was totally bent

Anyway rant over, the books absolutely, i mean absolutely, own the movies.

The book is always better!
They always leave stuff out some movies even end up killing the book completly cuz they change so much.

The movie was amazing.

HOWEVER, the book was unbelieveably amazing, and no amount of cinematography or special effects could have made the movie better than the book. The book rules!!!

Unless they made a SUPER long movie with every single detail of the book every conversation exacly everything that happens.
now THAT would be an AMAZING movie! Lol. but hella long:P

books are always better in the case of harry potter. i just watch the movies to check out anything that would like cool on the big screen. i dunno.
