After seeing the pronunciation of Hermione thread this got me thinking, I remember seeing someone make a presentation about the books when I was younger and they had said americans say it like they do in the movies, kwid-itch

They said though that it was actually supposed to be said like kid-ditch or something of the sort. Is this at all true, Im not looking to debate how to say it or anything just wondering if anyone else has heard or says it like that?

Haha, I could honestly have fit anywhere. I would have given the sorting hat some trouble I think if it were real.

But on topic I say it Kwid-Ditch by the way.

I say it like kwid-itch. That's the only way I've ever heard it said.

Thats what I had thought but when this high school student (at the time I was in 5th grade I think) gave us his presentation on Harry Potter he said a lot of people from Europe pronounced it Kid-itch and not Kwid-itch

I am European and I and everyone I know say Kwid-Itch. Maybes it european people who's first language isn't english that say Kid-Itch - May be more of the accent rather that actual pronouncation.
