I was actually very fond of this movie and number 1 to. They didnt miss any major parts like movie and book 2 3 4. I loved the movie. I took my husband to go see the premiere and man I had so much fun. My husband on the other hand was falling asleep cause he never read the book. If you didnt read the book, would the movie have made sense to u? _________________

I think they left out a lot, but I've come to expect this so I wasn't terribly disappointed.
What "major parts" are you referring to when you speak about movies 2,3, and 4?
I think the only thing that might have made the movie hard to understand would be that it was a bit rushed in certain parts. That being said I think those who saw the first four movies and hadn't read the books probably could understand the main idea of the movie. _________________

husband couldnt understand and movie 5th actually mentoned ALOT of major points. There are a few that werent mentioned but compared to movie 2 3 and 4 , movie 5 was better at the main points. Thats my opinioun. _________________

the keyword word here is mentioned...all through the 5th movie they were simplely mentioning important stuff and they didn't really elaborate on any of it....so yes maybe there were more main points in the 5th movie, but with the movie so rushed as it was i could deffinately see people who have not read the 5th book being confused... |

Well in the 4th movie they really didn't explain about Barty Crouch, Jr. and you just have to assume he escaped from Azkaban by himself somehow... Which kind of cheapens what Sirius did the previous year.
Also I've seen a few new people on the board say they haven't read the books and have been asking a lot of questions about the movie.
I obviously have read all the books but I said to my g/f if I hadn't read book 5, I don't think I would have understood the movie at all. _________________

I saw the movie a second time tonight with my brother, who hasn't read the books. When I asked him if he was at all confused he looked at me and said, "What is there to be confused about?"
I will agree they rushed through it a lot, but I think they did a fine job in putting everything together so viewers get the general idea of the storyline.
The longest book and the shortest movie...my only real complaint is that it would have been nice if they had devoted a few extra minutes to explaining what a prophecy was, why it was important, why Voldemort was after it, etc. etc. _________________

If I hadn;t read the book I think the movie would be hard to grasp the consept and whats going on.

yeah, they got a lot of the main points in but it made me feel like it was being rushed. i dont think they really captured the essence of harry felling alone and rejected from everyone which was a huge part of the story. _________________

The first letter he writes to Sirius? "I feel more alone than ever"
Discovering Luna in the forest and comparing themselves to the thestrals? "They're..." "different."
Shouting at Dumbledore and asking Dumbledore what's happening to him?
His chat with Sirius back at Grimmauld Place about always feeling angry?
I think they did a fine job. _________________
