What's your favorite WRock (Wizard Rock) band?

Mine would have to be either Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls or The Weasel King.

I listen to a LOT of bands:

Harry & the Potters
Draco & the Malfoys
The Whomping Willows
The Remus Lupins
The Moaning Myrtles
The Parselmouths
The Ministry of Magic
Gred & Forge

Those are just my favorites. Wink Can't EVEN choose one, but The Ministry of Magic is what I'm favoring recently.

Anybody regularly attend shows? I recently went to Wrock Chicago.

My problem with Wizard rock is probably the fact that none of the bands sound different. and most of the music sounds like it was all done in midi or bad quality recording. Nothing that sounds like it's professionally done.

That's because it isn't professional and was most likely recorded in someone's basement.

Professional sounding Wrock bands: Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls
Ministry of Magic
The Weasel King

Those are all I can think of off the top of my head. Feel free to add to that list.

The Moaning Myrtles. They're my favorite by far.
Tom Riddle and Friends also sounds great. If you go onto their myspace pages the sound quality is better than, say, yuotube where people just upload videos they took of them during a live performance.

lol, Mike, if they sounded "professional" then you'd probably hate them anyway for "selling out" and going "mainstream." Razz Wink
Most of them probably did record in some basement... but hey, they're music is getting out there to the public, so more power to them.

Meh, I disagree. If you think that, you probably aren't looking hard enough. The major bands all sound somewhat similar, but you have to dig a little bit to find diversity. Trust me, it's there.

And it's not really "professionally done", but some bands really do sound like that, at least to me. Especially the Ministry of Magic, their latest album really sounds well done. And the Remus Lupins' newest: "Nevermind the Furthermore"

Haha my sig is off TRAF's MySpace Very Happy! I've seen some vids of bands recording, and all the ones I've seen were at the band's own home. Christian (Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls) records out of his home and I'm always amazed at the quality when I listen.
