Well it just came to my mind...why not we make a graphics awards here ... avatars,siggies and wall papers .. firs we pick a judge " and that's ganna be me bcoz i came with the idea" then evry body post anything they made from the above " avatars,siggies and wall papers " the i pick one ava one siggie and one wall paper and make an award for each one which is a sig " best ava" <-- usin their ava ,, best sig " using their sig" and so on .. the i pick one of the three as a judge for the next week .... we can choose the same pesrson as best ava and sig or wtvr . but no one can be a judge twice .... and these awards can be for 6 weeks or as we all decide together ... Wink

Please guyz reply giving your Openion about what i juss said ....

we kind of have something like this when we have the potterforums awards. but its just one category for like most creative or something.
but i think its a good idea

Personally I think if we did do this that we pick a judge that has a lot of graphics experience and knows whats good, and whats not.

A graphics experience judge .. that is okay .... but we want every one to participate and take part..and not all of us have graphics experience ... Wink

I think this is a pretty good idea. It makes sense to me that you could pick one or two sigs, avatars, and wallpapers and post them where the judge wouldn't have to sift through every sig you've made to try to find the best looking one, you would just pick out the one you think looks best to submit. I also think that we might should have a contest for each house, the winner for that house being chosen by the house mod, and then the over-all winner chosen by Dar or Phoenix. Or maybe we should do separate contests for different programs that people used to make the graphic, because if you make it with Paint or some other editor like that then it's not going to be as good as if you were to make it with Photoshop. Or just two different categories, one for non-animated and the other for animated. Sorry if I've just confused anyone or if this would be making it too comlicated.

if we ganna make a winner for each house then they have to be 3 " sig m avater and wallpaper" and then a forum winner for each category .... but not for each programme .... becouse they are going to judge about what looks the best not what looks the hardest to be made ..... that's what i think....

Thanks for everyone posting there suggestions. While I think members within the graphics community here would love this idea, I don't think the scope of the project will work out too well from an administrative standpoint. We do have a very dedicated group of member interested in graphics, but I feel that the amount of time that it would take for moderators or site staff to dedicate to contests like this would not be the most effective use of their resources to the community as a whole. We do have forum awards fairly regularly (with the next round in the next couple of months) that have some awards related to graphics. At the current time, I do not think I would support this as described above because of the time requirements of site staff.

However, if anyone is interested in trying to set up unofficial contests in the Hogwarts Gallery forum, they are free to do so. Please keep in mind that the organizers would need to be sure to follow the forum rules and be sure to not alienate members from the contests. If problems would occur, moderators would be required to take action to resolve the issues which could possibly include stopping the contests.

If you have any other suggestions or questions, please feel free to post them as we always want to hear your ideas, even if we don't have the means of approving all of them.
