I was reading the last chapter when all of a sudden I saw that Kreacher was the second- \last proper-noun or rather character mentioned in the whole series. I found this quite unusual knowing that the last sentence of the book or series was:

"And quite honestly," he turned away from the painted portraits, thinking now only of the four-poster bed lying waiting for him in Gryffindor Tower, and wondering wether Kreacher might bring him a sandwich there, "I've had enough trouble for a lifetime."
I know your all thinking, what about Nineteen Years Later. Well, thats just a little chapter not relating to Deathly Hallows at all telling you about what happened to most of the characters, but we already know most of the things that happened to the other characters are found on websites. _________________

Why would he be tortured by Death Eaters? He could just disapparate away from them.
After the trio didn't come home and the Death Eaters went in, assuming they did, Kreacher probably got the hell out of dodge. The Hogwarts grounds are protected from apparting so Voldemort or some evil power couldn't apparate there and attack the students and school. _________________ "Don't count your owls before they are delivered."

that's not really the point. as far as harry knew kreacher was still safe and able to aparate to hogwarts and make him a sandwich.
maybe he did get kidnapped by deatheaters, but harry didn't know that, all he was thinking about was going to his dormatory and having a snack. _________________
