Hey I had an Idea for the ranks
Right now you got
Muggle
Squib
First Year
Second Year
Third Year
Fourth Year
Fith Year
Siveth Year
Seventh Year
Order of Merlin

I had an idea
Why not have some other ranks like
Shoping in Diagon ally
On platform 93/4
On the Hargwarts Express
First Year
Being Sorted
Fighiting Qurriell
Second Years
Solving the Mystery
Fighting the Spiders
Fighting the Basalisk
Third year
Saving Buckbeak
Fighting the Dementors
Saving Serious
ETC
Stuff like that so its like people are on the Harry Potter journey!
I can make mroe all the way to seventh Years and byond if you want more ideas!

Thanks for the very unique suggestion. We are always looking for feedback, suggestions, and ideas to improve our site. While I think this suggestion would be interesting for people to track themselves through the HP series, I do not believe that it would be the best option for our forums.

One of our newest features is the rank image found below each person's name in their posts. Right now we have 11 main ranks, with 11 unique images. It would take our volunteer graphics person a very significant amount of time to create high quality rank images for the large number of new ranks. Additionally, we are limited in the amount of text we can fit in each of the images because of their size. The longer length descriptions would render the images nearly impossible to identify the background picture.

Second, we have found that a fair amount of people are confused by our current rank system. Multiplying the complexity of the system by 5 would certainly make it more confusing to these people.

Let me repeat the fact that I really do appreciate your ideas and feedback and that I think your idea is interesting and would be a very neat feature. However, I do not think it would be in the best interest of our forums site to implement the changes.

I have to agree with DarMonkey. Not that it isn't a cool idea though, but it really can not have a system like our current ranks do.

Please always feel free to make suggestions though. Us mods always take them into consideration.

like 1 post. muggle
100 posts. squib
1000 posts. 1st year
2000 posts. 2nd year
3000 posts. 3rd year
4000 posts. 4th year
5000 posts. 5th year
6000 posts. 6th year
7000 posts. 7th year
8000 posts. hogwarts graduate
10000 posts. order of merlin

i know 10000 is a lot but it might give some people to work towards something i guess

0.0 I think those are a little too big personally. Out of over 2,000 members we a few more than 10 that have even gone over just a 1,000 posts.

thousands are way to high (the highest poster doesn't even have 10,000)

and if your posts are lower numbers then it gives people more insentive to be posting (if they only need 100 to get to the next level vs. 1000 they will be more receptive.)

If you want a way to make it more meaningful only post on things you feel pationate about, not just games, and quizes etc.
