who will save harry, ron and hermione from the malfoy house? it seems like neville has slowly replaced dobby in the films, so will he appear and save them? or will kreacher somehow get worked in? what do you think?

but dobby has played such a small role. he hasn't even been heard of since the chamber of secrets.

Because even though Dobby played a small role in the movies, he's still a rather large character in the books. If Yates (still can't believe they chose him) doesn't put him in, *shakes head*...seriously? DOBBY! The FREE HOUSE-ELF!

the movies where he serves a useful role have already been filmed (with the exception of the last). unless he's seen tracking malfoy in half blood prince (a task which will probably be given just to kreachur), i can almost gaurantee he won't be in the last movie. especially for such a short moment.

I still think he will be. The Trio have to escape Malfoy Manor somehow.

I read that the reason the movie is gonna be 2 parts is so that they could put everything from the book in it. So I guess that means Dobby will be in it.

If they can add Kreacher to Ootp (even at JK's request) they should have Dobby in DH.

It seems to have been confirmed that Dobby will (finally) make an appearance (and perhaps have an even larger role) in Deathly Hallows.

If Dobby is in it, being honest, it will probably make no difference when he dies to people who haven't read the books. Because they haven't come to love Dobby for all hes done for Harry etc.
They'll think of him as the annoying little elf that got Harry in trouble...
Honestly... I cried when Dobby died, unless they make it that heart hitting, I doubt anyone apart from the book lovers will get upset...

i completely agree, although i didn't cry.
unless they majorly beef up his role (maybe have him replace kreacher at the black house), he won't have a major impact on movie only fans.

Most probably, Dobby will be introduced (again) in the first DH movie (I'm not sure how), and his death will be in the second movie. Although he'll need to have a big role in the first movie so that his death will have a greater impact in the second.

I hope Dobby does appear more in the film, i supose it is true that his death will not make much of an impact on those who havn't read the books as he isn't in the films much.
i do hope he is in it this time. |
