A lot of changes were made. Marietta replaced by Cho in the betrayal. No Valentine's Day scene. No Cho jealous over Hermoine. And Umbridge forcefully breaking into the Room of Requirement? WTF?

I thought it was OK/Fair.

It's a very difficult task for a film maker to adapt an existing novel for the screen, especially one as rich in detail and plot as Order of the Phoenix. What works well on the page won't necessarily work visually, and I think you have to regard film and book as two completely different artifacts. A director has to always think cinematically and omitting elements which may have been crucial in a novel is very often a compromise which is unavoidable in order to obtain a good piece of film making.
I personally thought Order of the Phoenix was a terrific movie (read more here ) certainly one of the strongest of the series. (My personal favourite is Goblet of Fire)

It really made me wonder if it is important. They left out a lot of other stuff that we've been using in our theories...

Spoiler:

the locket, Mundungus, the two-way mirror...

Yah but thats how all of the HP movies have been. You truly won't understand the movie if you havent read the books.

Spoiler:

OK.. fine he did go into his body.. but he never tired to take him over.. it says right in the book.. all that happend was voldemort spoke out of harrys mouth "Kill me now, Dumbledore, Kill the boy" then Voldy left his body becasue Harry thought of Sirius." Never once did it say in the book that Voldemort was trying to take over Harry. Besides before the whole ministry thing happend.. I'm just going by what the book says.. "

I love the books and the films.

I enjoy the films because I do not expect the them to be actaully liek the books, because there is no way that they could be as good.

i thought the dueling scens at the end were pretty sweet. although what was weird about it was they somehow could be in a state resembling mid-apparation, where basically all you could see were their cloaks. any explanation for this?

I still stand on no matter how unaccurate it was that this movie was made to be a good movie not an accurate movie.

I've just seen it today and I was once again dissapointed, but not on the same level as when I saw the Goblet of Fire, but it was still better. The problem with the film was that it seemed to be too rushed and like before they exaggerate with the magic. The actor for Vernon didn't portray his character well he wasn't mean at all and that's not really the only time. In the movie there seemed to be several scenes where they didn't portay the scenes from the book correctly, like Dumbledore at the hearing he had sort of a temper and didn't portay Dumbledore's personality of really always staying calm and harry sometimes at points too, sure he didn't feel sorrowful when he needed to be and called out for Dumbledore because he was avoiding him,9in the book he did really want to speak of him, but he didn't show it as not to seem as you know...)

The department of Mysteries looked wicked cool, much better than I imagined and the Death Eater's entrance was tight. It was said that there was no Death Eater with a baby head or Ron being strangled by brains which I was looking forward to the most.
Luna Lovegood was just right and I was sort of expecting a short side to Hagrid's journey to the mountains. Also with Umbridge she was okay I guess but she wasn't as mean as I wanted, the scene with Harry writing in blood should've felt more important and had a longing affect like it affected me when I read the novel. The movie kind of bored me into almost sleep at certain points, but towards the end it got better significantly. Overall the real problem with me was that everything seemed to rush and I felt that it ended too early. Oh well the only reason I really saw it because of the preview and with the new director and it's based off my favorite book. Oh well I won't be hoaxed to see the other two no matter what the preview. Some things some people just can't get right or just too weary to make the effort on Today show I heard that JK is the 2nd richest woman in the world with Oprah in 1st so she could've slipped some more money to make it better and a better dedication to the fans.
