Listening to the movie today, I can only hear what's going on, but I found myself really liking the sound of Harry's parents' voices. This is on top of the fact that I think they were great casting choices as his parents, coz they really look like they can be Daniel's parents. I hope they use the same actors in the last film, where I THINK they have more lines right before Harry fights...

^ I agree. They were still young when they had Harry. I see why they were cast as they were, in case the actors were needed again. Like what they did with Moaning Myrtle. But still, it was surprising when we found out how old they ar in the books, compared to how old they are in the films.

I agree with the age thing. They would never pass for 21, which was the age of Harry's parents at death. The owrst part about it is that they look the same age as Lupin and Sirius now.

Well, maybe the producers thought it would be cool to show them like they would be now... no, that's too stupid.
But, well with 21 you don't look rather parent-like, so they had to take older persons... the viewers might have wondered who those people are...

Wait, so if James is 21, that means Lupin is 21 also? I can understand Sirius's excuse, but my god. Lupin looks like he's 45.

No! James was 21 when he died when Harry was 1 years old! Then Lupin and Sirius are both 21+ Harry's age.

So, in OOTP Sirius and Lupin are 45, right?
And Snape as well!
The actors aren't exactly the same age though!
I found this on Alan Rickman's imdb:
He (Rickman) is 11 years older than Timothy Spall, 12 years older than Adrian Rawlins and Gary Oldman, 17 years older than David Thewlis, and 21 years older than Geraldine Somerville. Nevertheless, the character that the six of them play in the Harry Potter films are meant to be contemporaries and former classmates.

I love who they chose for Harry's parents...the mum i'm not quite so sure about...it's something about her voice...i think she could be Luna Lovegood's mum...LOL
