How about Nerville?? No one thinks he is smart enough... that would be something... its like Jessica Simpson... she is an idiot, but still, she has loads of money... so nerville is the least thought person for the job... for all I know, he could be acting like and idiot and is an einstein of his time...
Just saying what comes up in my head, nothing coherent... still Harry will die, it is the only logical thing for me to happen...
Neville might die, who knows. Anything possible when you're talking about Harry Potter. But I don't think he's a genius in secret. _________________ Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus
Here's what I think: Harry's going to be changed forever by destroying the Horcruxes, and he won't tell Ron and Hermione what happened, but the reader knows. And so when the final duel comes, he allows himself to die in order to destroy Voldemort. I really think that JKR should kill him, because it is the most fitting end for him. After all he's been through, he shouldn't go on living. _________________ Fairytales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.
I don't necessarily think he should die. I think it's a possibility, but I also think that she could certainly write it in a way that he goes down in history as the boy who fought and won the greatest battle in wizarding history.
Yes, but that would be.... too stereotypical, if you ask me. It's almost like a MarySue if he doesn't die: excessively venerating a favorite character by giving him inhuman traits and special powers. Voldemort has to die, yes, but I think that if JKR is really true to her story, she'll kill Harry, too. Though I can understand why people would disagree. _________________ Fairytales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.
I don't think that's necessarily true, as I think that it all depends on how she writes him living. Plus, I don't necessarily think that he has to have any special powers that no other wizards have, although we do already know that Harry is an especially powerful wizard. I think the possibility has been left open for either one.
I guess that's true, but... I dunno, I think he's gonna die... _________________ Fairytales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.
The spoiler is not for Harry Potter: I'm using the Bartimaeus trilogy as an example, and the spoiler spoils the ending of the third book. If you've already read it or never plan on doing so, go ahead and read this.
Spoiler:
In the Bartimaeus Trilogy, Nathaniel, one of the main characters, dies to save the world (in a nutshell), and the ending makes you want to cry, but it's fitting. I think death would be a fitting end for Harry. Kind of like Dumbledore; most of us predicted he was going to die sometime since the beginning of the series. Why? Because he was meant to die. It was the right end for him.
But, you're right, of course. He could go on living. But I highly doubt he will come out of his final encounter unscathed. _________________ Fairytales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.
lol, most definitely. _________________ Fairytales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.

These are definately carefully chosen words, but the one thing that stands out is the part about niether surviving while the other lives? What does that mean? It doesn't make sense, they were both alive in every meaning of the word at the end of book 4 right?
Unless it is something like one or both of them is not "fully" alive.
Maybe I am talking the crazy talk, but is anyone following this?
Yeah, I mean, V wasn't realy "alive" during the first books... and then both of the could live with wach other, because what the profecy said, was true...
I don't know... aghhhhHHHHHHHHHHHH _________________ Sonita
I thought the Horcruxes were created so that he couldn't die? When he was near death, he could go get one of his Horcruxes and get his spirit out of them... _________________
A Horcrux contains a piece of soul. If you want to die, your whole soul dies, but thats unable when you have stored a piece somewhere else... you're still connected to eath. (It's like making a back-up) _________________ Nederlands!!

Good theory. It could happen.
I don't want Harry to die though. He deserves a chance to live. Really live. _________________
