Right i read on Emma's offical web that they started filming HBP in Dcember 2007

http://www.emmawatsonofficial.com/#ems/show/288

and i also read that they finshed filming in May 2008

http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2008/5/22/principle-photography-on-half-blood-prince-completed

as Emma posted these on her web site then they are correct meaning that it only took around 5 months to film thats not very long how much did they cut ou to get times like!

your comments....

I don't think they have finished filming yet, or else they'd release it already or so? I just think Emma's website didn't update lately or something. But this film shouldn't be as difficult at OotP, seeing as we see much less effects. The film relies more on emotions etc. The director said it had "a lot of snogging".

they don't release movies as soon as they're done filming. cgi special effects, music and editing still have to be done. idk...5 months seems like a long time to me. but I have no idea really.

It's coming out in November, I heard. I also saw the trailer and it looks nice. And, yes, it takes about 5 months after filming to finish up special effects or something, and then some contracts and similar. I heard that - don't laugh if I'm VERY wrong. I'm 14 years old and have an idiot for a brother

There is a LOT more to do after finished filming. Effects, music etc.
I'm guessing they finished in May, if that's what it says on Emma's website.

i know about the editing i am talking about during filming when they edit they only have what they filmed to work with and 5 months maybe a lot of time but they spend a few days on just one scene

No cause they do filming everyday or so and they have many things filming at the same time. Its really easy to get it all filmed in 5 months. That's quite a bit of time for movies.

There are like 22 or so weekdays in a month, 5 months of filming is 110 days of filming. If they film 2 minutes of footage a day that leaves like 3 hours and 40 minutes. After editing we will have a lengthy movie don't worry. Probably around 2:15-2:45 hours.

I don't think you should be worried. David is a fabulous director and will do the best movie he can, even better than OOTP. I hope =)
lol and excellent math King818! That proves that this movie will be great!!! Or at least long enough to be great! =)

five months is actually a decent amount of time to get just the acting done. i know some movies that took under a month to film. ie 50 first dates took three weeks to film.

If Yates spoils this movie too, I'll garotte him and use him as a boxing sack. >.<

THREE WEEKS? REALLY? wow that is heaps quick. maybe then 5 months is really quite resonable amount of time for the filming.

so i guess the entire movie took 8 months to film plus another month for editing and those kinds of stuff.
