has anyone read the children of the red king series, more commonly known as the charlie bone books? ok, well they are a lot like HP. i don't know if the author copied jkr or not, but i don't care, they are really good. but i find it kind of odd because there was only suppossed to be 5 books and the ending of the 5th book was perfect. but then like a year later a 6th book was published. i guess jenny nimmo just changed her mind, but still.....

has anyone else read them? i have read all of them except for the 6th one

I've heard of them, I think I might read them since they have the 1st one at my library. Do you like them as much as HP?

ok, i finished charlie bone and the beast, the sixth one, on saturday. it was pretty good. and the ending could go either way, which makes me think that when the author finished writing it, she wasn't sure if she was going to write another one or not.

I'm a little late on this, I must say, lol but I read 4 of them. I own 3 of them, I need to get the others because it's a really good series even though it's pretty similiar to Harry Potter.

I love the series. The books have a younger reader appeal, and a lot simpler writing than HP.
Also, although both HP and Charlie Bone go to school and have powers.
The basis of their powers is different.
Charlie goes to school with normal kids
Everyones Powers vary.
There is an obvious similarity, and I got into the books in 8th grade with the scholastic catalog because it said "for fans of Harry Potter"
But there is definitely a bit of a different story line between the two.
Harry Potter is still better of course.

I love the Charlie Bone books nad have read all 6 of them!! ( the hidden king is my favourite) I can't wait for the 7th one, Charlie Bone and the Shadow of the Badlock comin out in the UK on September 1st!
The 7th book will be the last one and the 8th book will be focused on the Red King and his 10 children in the 12th century is a rumour floating about.

I have read only one of the Charlie Bone Books: Book #2 :Charlie Bone and the Time Twister. The author, Jenny Nimmo is almost like J.K. because she seemed to copy the Harry Potter Books. They are very alike, very similar. They are also great books too.
Spoiler:

I think I made some Harry Potter Discussion ?
