HI just wondering who really cursed the Longbottoms. In the fourth movie they said it was Barty Crouch Jr, but in the fifth movie they said it was Bellatrix Lestrange . Maybe i misunderstood or just missed something some one let me know whats up ...

I'm pretty sure (according to the books), Bellatrix and her husband, his brother and Crouch, Jr. were all there when the Longbottoms were tortured into insanity. Later Bellatrix seems to be the "master" of crucio, so I would imagine she was the one who actually did the torturing.

That is correct, but when people talk about the Longbottoms, it's usually just Bellatrix. I too would assume that she was the main torturer.

^ I agree. It's said they were all there, but I get the impression it was Bellatrix holding the wand based on Nevilles reactions to her in OotP book and later books.

Bellatrix was the one who used Crucio on the Longbottoms.

I always got the impression that they all used the cruciatus curse on the Longbottoms. Bellatrx just gets credited for it since she is the only one who Neville actually had contact with. I assume that he would act the same towards the others if ever faced with them.

If you ask me, Bellatrix was the only one pissed off enough to use the Cruciatus Curse. Also, the fact that she stood up before the Wizengamot and declared her loyalty to Voldemort probably made its members assume she was the one leading the entire thing. And as it seems, she was. I wouldn't be surprised if Rodolphus envied Voldy. ;P

Bellatrix was the "head-honcho" so to speak, during that particular event; her husband and Barty Crouch Jr. were just back-ups.
