What does everyone think Dumbeldore experienced when he drank the potion in the underground lake?

I think that it was a potion that did two things: Made the drinker relive their worst memory + Plus relive the real pain they expeirienced from it.

DD defeated Grindelwald in 1945. This parrelles to HP's situation.
If DD witnessed his parents being tortured at a young age (old enough to understand what was going on, but too young to try to defend them.) Couldn't DD have been in the same position as Harry, knowing that either Grindelwald would kill him or he would kill Grindelwald, not because a prophecy but for love and vengeance?

I kind of trailed of from the question but oh well. . . it's just so fascinating.
