I want to get this game, the only thing that is holding me back is my lack of knowledge when it comes to the Diablo series. I've played a bit of the first one and watched my old friend play the 2nd one but I've never really known the story line. I know they wrote a novel about it but I'm sure the games story is much, much better.

The story line isn't really that important. I had never played Diablo until recently and I played Diablo 2 for years. I have heard the game has a good story line, but I never really watched the cinematics or listen to the NPC's.

I seen screenshots of Diablo 2 and thing keeping me from buying it is the blocky and dated graphics. Kinda reminds me of Runescape graphics.

The graphics is Diablo 2 are not impressive, especially by todays standards. But it runs very smooth on almost any computer. It is the gameplay that makes it fun, not the graphics. And they aren't quite that bad, even though the max resolution is 800x600. Also, it doesn't run in widescreen mode (unless you're on a Mac).

Right now I'm into Age of Conan but I'm probably going to switch to D3 when it comes out...whether I like it or not >.<

That reminds me, I better login again here soon so my accounts don't expire.
Has anyone played on the new patch? What did they add/change? Is there another world or special event like DClone (Uber Diablo) or the Hellfire Torch (Uber Tristram) stuff?

i have not smexy, been too busy with the lil kidlets but come diablo3 they better be potty trained and tall enuf to make their own hot dogs

You know, you could just spread newspaper all over the place and put the microwave on the floor. Then you'd be good to go.

At the moment I'm downloading a free trial of d2. If I enjoy I'll probably get the full version and possibly d3.

If you are referring to 1.12, then I think the only change is "no-cd required" to play. Something along those lines. There haven't been any additions to the game in terms of content/mechanics. Also, what realm do you play? NL or L?

All of my accounts are on US-East non-ladder (NL).

I play US West NL.
All my characters were ladder but then I didn't go on for awihle and when I came back they were all nonladder?

When the ladder resets, all Ladder characters are moved to Non-Ladder. There was a ladder reset earlier this summer or late spring sometime, I think. Possibly when they introduced the new patch.
