I thought so too,I think she would have been if she had wanted into that house, remember that when she first met Harry and Ron on the train she said Gryffindor sounded like the best then she said Ravenclaw didn't sound too bad(maybe not exact words but I'm too lazy to go and get the book, and I can't 'accio!' it here Very Happy )Also the sorting hat takes your choice into account that is what Harry said.He wanted in Gryffindor, the sorting hat said he would do great in slytherin...but the sorting hat put him in gryffindor. That was probably how Hermione ended up in Gryffindor and she is brave after all.

Hermione has qualities of both.

In my mind the "new Hogwarts" after Harry defeats Voldemort is not sorted into houses for various different reasons:

1.) "sometimes we sort too early"

2.) the sorting hat itself said that sorting was a mistake because it creates conflict and that the houses need to try to unite as one

just because you dont hear of her bravery all the time doesnt mean she is lacking.....she shows her smarts on the outside but who is to say wat is on the inside....the hat was correct

I guess Hermione belongs to Gryffindor because whenever a situation arises she doesnt always do the sensible thing (like wat most ravenclaws would do) instead she will do the right thing (like wat most Gryffindors would do).

For example in book five, when Harry goes to the Ministry to save Sirius, Hermione figures that it might be a trap. So the sensible thing would be to inform the Order, but she follows Harry coz she doesnt want anything to happen to Harry and the others.

i agree. besides, she punched malfoy. i think that was pretty brave of her. and the whole thing with umbridge.

i picture ravenclaws as being book smart and not so much practical smart. hermione, while book smart, is practically smart, and shows qualities of gryffindor.

At first glimpse, maybe she should have been in the other house. But as her character develops, we see she really is a true Gryffindor.

I thought the sorting hat did a good job but I wonder if Ravenclaw would also work but I stick with my vote.

If she was in Gryffindor, she probably wouldn't have fell in love with Ron Weasley. and she wouldn't be friends with Harry Potter.

Hermione is definetly Gryffindor. She is very smart, but part of that is because she is determined to prove to everybody that just because she's a Muggleborn, doesn't mean she can't be a good witch. She is also trying to prove to herself that she isn't that same girl she was in the Muggle world. That is defenite Gryffindor behavior.

She is very intelligent. But I think that she is more brave then she is smart so I think Gryffindor suits her best.

I think she should have been in Ravenclaw just because of how clever she is!
But then she wouldn't have been such good friends with Harry and Ron so I don't mind that she's in Gryfindor!

Very Happy

I think she should be in Gryffindor because she may be smart but she is also brave and nobody said that people in Gryffindor were not smart as well.

i think she is more brave than smart. you would have to be really brave to do what she does. and being brave is not somethgn you can just learn so i think she deservs to be in griffindor.
