I took part in a competition in a Greek forum and what we had to do was to change the scene where Snape is killed so that it shows how we would present it if we had been JKR. I translated it and I hope you enjoy it. Please, excuse my grammar and vocabulary mistakes.
Harry, Ron and Hermione, very well hidden, were watching the conversation between Snape and Voldemort.
“My Lord, please, let me find Potter” Voldemort didn’t seem to notice the ton of request in Snape’s voice.
“Severus, I need you for something more important than Potter. Don’t worry, he will come and find me, he can’t stand his friends’ loss.” answered Voldemort.
He made a movement with his wand and Harry’s heart struck faster because of fear for a moment… but it was nothing…
“You can go out for a while, Nagini.” said Voldemort in Parseltongue as he removed the spells that kept the snake in her magical cage. He looked at her tenderly… he had never looked any other creature in that way…
“My Lord, how can I help you?” asked Snape.
“I have a problem Severus… with Dumbledore’s wand, the Elder Wand.” said Voldemort coldly.
“But, I don’t make wands. How could I help you?” wondered Snape. “My Lord?” he added.
“I know what the problem is Severus. I didn’t win the wand. It was not me who killed Dumbledore. It was you. And you must die. You are a great wizard, Severus, I have to admit that I am impressed by your abilities but I can live without you. I can’t live while Potter is alive and I will do anything to see him dead. You know that, don’t you, Severus?” Voldemort’s voice was becoming colder while he was speaking.
“My Lord, I’m sure…” started Snape.
“I don’t care, Severus.” Voldemort interrupted him. “What I am interested in is your death. You deserve to die as hero and I would like to fight with you. You shoyld be happy that The Dark Lord, Lord Voldemort wants to fight with you.”
Anger had taken over Harry’s mind, heart and soul. Voldemort was so cruel! But, why was he surprised? That is what Voldemort had always been. Cruel. Insane.
Snape stood up and raised his wand.
“Experlliamous!” a red light came out of Voldemort’s wand and Snape lost his own.
“I hadn’t used that spell for a long time” said Voldemort while he was picking Snape’s wand.
His red eyes met Snape’s. “Avada Kedavra!” yelled Voldemort. Snape moved and the curse found Nagini. The snake fell dead.
“NOOOOO!!!” screamed Voldemort. “You didn’t do what you had to do, Severus. You didn’t protect with your body the only creature that was important for your boss. You will pay for that, Severus. Your death will be more painful than I had planned.”
Their eyes, full of hatred, met once again. Then, Voldemort made a quick move and a knife nailed on Snape’s chest, although it hit him on the right, as he tried to avoid beind hurt in the heart.
Voldemort left the room.
Harry went next to Snape. “Harry… are you… crazy?” Snape found difficulty in speaking because of pain so he whispered.
Harry looked at him as he was something strange that no one had seen before.
“I loved you… I loved you Harry… as… as a father…” as Snape was trying to speak, it was even more difficult for him.
Harry was ready to interrupt him. “No… please… let me… finish…” Snape stopped him.
“I’m sorry… for my… behaviour… I didn’t… want to… I had to…” he put a small bottle in Harry’s hand. “Take it… my memories… go now… he’s coming…” he added.
Harry went back to his hiding place holding the small bottle and a moment later Voldemort appeared.
He touched his neck with the Elder Wand. His voice became loud. “Your friends die for you, Potter. I didn’t expect you to let this happen. Death Eaters, stop fighting. Take care of your dead and your injured people. Potter, I will be waiting for you in the Forbidden Forest for an hour. If you don’t come, I won’t be so kind to your friends. I will kill anyone who will try to keep me away from you.”
Harry, Ron and Hermione came out of the Shrieking Shack and started walking to the castle, thank to the secret tunnel. Harry knew what he had to do. He wouldn’t tell anyone about it. But he knew it had to be done this way. _________________
