it's not written well at all but its just one of those books that keep you hooked!

i'm re-reading twilight series now, before the last one comes out

Vampires are Yawn-fests in my opinion. Why even compare the two series? I think the Bartimaeus Trilogy a much more fitting series to compare with. Just as stylized without being too different...?

in ways yes

okay here's my opinion:

Harry Potter is just as good as the Twilight series.

Twilight is newer, so it's better because you have fresh material to read.
once Breaking Dawn and Midnight Sun come out, it will be equal with HP.

They are both awesome series and they both deserve to read over and over and over again until the spines of the books tear.

^i agree with you but i also thinkg that harry potter is more clever. so in the years to come more people are going to remember harry potter than twilight.
but i love them both the same, so they're both still equal to me!

Twilight isn't even close to equal with HP. There is no comparison! HP is far superior. I mean, Jo put everything she had into HP! It was well researched and that wasn't a single refernce in the HP series that wasn't directly related to something that would happen in the future. Stephenie just sort of decided to write a book one day and decided that she wanted to make it into a series when she couldn't decide on a proper Epilogue. It's an insult to Jo's intellect to say that Twilight is at all comparable to HP.

and twilight doesn't deserve to be reread over and over again imo. that is why I wont buy it or ask for it as a gift...if I can get it again in the library great...but really my only reason for wanting to reread it at all is because I don't remember over half of it (=unmemorable book...I'm usually good and remembering stories) and I want to move on to the others, so maybe I can actually keep up with most of the conversations these days.

I agree with you on this.
I'm a massive fan of both and as much as i love Twilight theres just no comparing it to Harry Potter.
I think its right what some people are saying, that Harry Potter has finished and Twilight is still going and its all new so its fresh and exciting.
But honestly once the Twilight series is finished and all the excitement of not knowing what happens has gone then your just left with another classic.

the Twilight series is brilliant and I love it with all my heart that hasn't already be captured by Harry Potter , but at the end of the day theres just no denying the fact that Harry Potter is better.
It has more mystery, better characters and leaves you more emotionally involved. [although saying that Harry Potter is missing one thing that could make it better, Alice & Edward Rolling Eyes Razz ]

& now I cant remember what else i was going to say LOL

haha

actually i think there are times when i think harry potter was way too long.
i remember when the fifth one came out a lot of people i knew were complaining that jkr needs an editor that's not afraid to cut things out of her books.

but yeh i guess the same thing could be said about twilight.

I have a question, it may be a liitle off topic, but hereit goes. How were you all introduced to Twilight. I've never heard of it until I saw something about the movie and I didn't know it was a book until I found this forum. So anyway, I'm asking because it seems to me like the only reason Twilight is even being compared to Harry Potter (they sound like completely different types of books to me) is because the guy in the movie is the guy who played Cedric Diggory. Am I way off?
