The Ring was made much less scary for me by virtue of my dad and I making fun of what we called the "bitter beer faces" throughout the movie.

I can't believe I forgot to put The Shining in my original post (I think I forgot it). That's a great one. And the original Night of the Living Dead. (They're coming to get you, Barbara).

I really enjoy horror if it's the right kind. I can't stand most 'slasher' type movies. They're so cliche and predictable by now. It seems right now that there's a lot of "high school horror" being made (horror/thriller rated PG-13) which, while not always terrible, tends to be bland. And the "torture porn" style horror is getting overdone for me (though I'm sure some people like it).
