Severus watched her walk out. The minute the door was closed, his eyes were filling with unwanted tears. Why did she have to do this to him? Couldn't it just be one of the happily ever after scenarios he had heard of so many times? No, he knew better than that. No real life story was ever a happily ever after. That only happened in fairytales. And right now, he was wishing he were in a fairytale.
For a fleeting moment he imagined himself as a prince - handsome, virtuous, and charming. He was dancing with a beautiful red-haired girl in a marble ballroom. She was laughing as he twirled her, obviously enjoying being with her prince charming. When the music stopped playing, she looked him straight in the eye, the beautiful smile on her face only growing larger. "Sev, I love you." She said, making his heart race. "I love you too, Lily."
In another second he had snapped out of it. He was back in the cold room in the basement of the Ministry, trapped for another month. He would have to live 7 days more without Lily, or any visitors, for that matter. He didn't know how he was going to survive.
-Tuesday Morning-
Severus's eyes fluttered open to an abnormally dark room. Upon looking out the enchanted bay window, he realized that the workers upstairs had obviously voted it to be rainy today. A sudden bolt of lightning illuminated the room for a split second before everything went dark again. He sighed, pulling himself out from under the heavy, grey duvet and getting out of bed.
He sighed and looked at the clock. 7:55. They'd be bringing breakfast in any second now. As if the Ministry officials could read his thoughts, the door opened and a man set down a tray full of food on the small dining table. He sat down as soon as the man had left, picking at his eggs idly. He wasn't really in the mood to eat.
-Saturday-
The hours passed like days. The days passed like years. But, finally, it was Saturday once again. Almost too eagerly, Severus jumped out of bed. Only two hours until visiting started... which meant - hopefully - Lily would be here with him.
Sorry it took so long for the update. I'm a lazy butthead. :]

Severus stared out the window anxiously... checking his watch, he found there was still an hour and a half until Lily would even be able to come visit him. When visiting hours started, would she even be here? Of course she would. She loved him.
He smiled, thinking that. She loved him. It was the best feeling in the world, knowing that the girl he loved loved him back. He laid back on the lumpy bed he was forced to sleep on every night, imagining her face - the beautiful emerald eyes paired with shimmery red hair he'd never seen on another girl. That's what made Lily amazing - she was so much different, even in her looks. She wasn't like the other girls that Severus had run into at Hogwart's. She had never made fun of him, never pointed out a single flaw about him.
Because she loved him. No matter how many times he replayed the scene from exactly one week ago in his head, it was still just as sweet. He couldn't believe how perfect this had become. Amazing, really. Lily was amazing.
Before he knew what had happened, the time period until visiting hours started had passed. The gruff voice of the security guard that stood outside Severus's door could be heard, then the slight murmur that he imagined was Lily. The talking continued for a few minutes. The voice of the guard seemed to be getting angrier, but the other voice stayed as calm as it always had been. Reluctantly, Severus stood and walked closer to the door, where he could overhear snippets of the conversation. The other voice couldn't have been Lily, he realized... it was too deep, though it did have the calm quality that Lily's voice always had. Who else would have came to visit him?
"Sir, I need to get into that room. I have serious matters to discuss with Mr. Snape." the calm voice said, followed by what sounded like an angry growl from the guard. Severus pressed his ear to do the door, the cold metal making his skin tingle. What in the world could this person want that was this important? He was extremely curious.
Finally, there was a movement that he assumed was the guard moving away from the door to let the other person in. He quickly ran to his bed, sitting down and pretending that he hadn't been listening to the conversation at all. When the handle on the door turned, he looked up. He knew that his wish to see Lily's face would not be granted, though he still hoped.
When the door was open, he found his headmaster standing before him. A wave of confusion swept over his mind... what could possibly be so important that the headmaster himself would come, as opposed to just sending an owl. Now that Severus studied the leader of Hogwarts' face, he realized that the man looked extremely tired, not to mention troubled and physically hurt. Bruises dotted the elderly man's face and when he approached Severus the limp he had acquired was obvious. Severus furrowed his brows, waiting for the headmaster to speak. Would he come right out with it, or make him wait? The answer was unsure. Still, the headmaster uttered no words. He came to stand directly in front of Severus and nodded in a way that inclined him to stand. He obliged willingly.
"There have been many developments since your leaving, Mr. Snape. Most students have not known about them before today, explaining why Miss Evans has told you nothing. By the way, she is located in the Hospital Wing - injured, mind you, but completely safe." Severus had to hold back a gasp.
"Why is she injured?" he said, trying to remain calm. Obviously whatever was going on at Hogwart's was dangerous as well as important enough for the headmaster to come and inform him of it. What in the world could be that important, though? It didn't make any sense. Unless... no, that rumor wasn't true. It had been proved wrong at the end of last year... Tom Riddle had disappeared. He was dead, according to what Severus had heard. His thoughts were interrupted when the headmaster spoke again.
