So.. I just got done reading this book again..

I cried.. It's the only book that I had actual tears falling. I mean In Harry Potter and others I had tears in my eyes but not actual falling tears.

Spoiler:

When I first read this book I had thought for sure that she had died. But now that I finish it again, and i'm older, I cant help but wonder if Jamie had survived. The last paragraph of the book is...

I breathe deeply, taking in the fresh spring air. Thought Beaufort has changed and I have changed, the air itself has not. It's still the air of my childhood, the air of my seventeenth year, and when I finally exhale, I'm fifty-seven once more. But this is ok. I smile slightly, looking toward the sky, knowing there's one thing I still have not told you: I now believe, by the way, that miracles can happen. ..

That part right there is what makes me think that Jamie had survived.

What do you guys think?

Spoiler:

She definitely died. She had cancer. Look again at this line... "looking toward the sky, knowing there's one thing I still have not told you"
He's looking toward the sky, aka heaven. He's talking to her as if she was there, but she isn't actually there. Because she died.

The book was ok... the movie was good, too... as much as it pains me to say. But, yeah, I liked the movie... mostly because the guy in it was hot.

Out of all of Nicholas Sparks books A Walk to Remember and The Notebook are the best

On Nicholas Sparks website it says that at the end of the book he deliberately didnt tell if she died because he wanted us to believe what we wanted to believe. He also says that he didnt want Jamie to die so he left the ending to his readers.

But... she had terminal cancer. There was no way she survived that.
