It's supposed to unite us.. It's not going to..

I know that most you don’t know what it feels like to have your votes stripped from you. The DNC today decided that they were only going to count half the vote for each delegate in both Michigan and Florida. This means that in Michigan they are actually taking votes away from Hillary. This is both wrong and unfair.

Both for the voters of Michigan and Hillary herself. We the voters did not know that the people in charge were going to move up our primary and that the consequence of said move is that our votes would not count. How is it the voters fault that they moved the primaries up? How is it the voters fault that Obama took his name off our ballet? We did not choose any of this yet the media and the DNC are still saying that it’s the voters fault.

I choose now not to vote for Obama or the republican candidate but to vote undecided. I would rather know where my vote went and have it stay there then not know or have the DNC come later and move my vote over to someone else. When I went out and cast my vote for Hillary I expected her to keep those votes. What I did not expect was for people to come later and steal those votes and give them to Obama. I now have very little faith in our government and what faith I have is diminishing very fast.

I will always be an American and am proud of that fact. Being an American your supposed to have your vote counted, our founding fathers believed that and I expected whoever is in charge now to keep that going. Never did I dream that who ever is in charge would take my vote away from me. That’s what happened I am not happy with only seating ½ each of the delegates votes. But me being the voter no one cares what I think because I don’t matter. What happened to every vote counts?

If your only going to criticize me or Hilliary then please just don't post. This is not to fight about her it's just to get your opinion on what went on in the DNC.

By the way.. I am a Michigan Resident and old enough to vote.. And I do vote. So i have a right to complain and be mad. I dont need to be criticized by for this or I dont want fights it's not about fighting.. I just want your opinion.

I don't like what this has done to the democratic party. It's completely torn apart. It is only as strong as the party is are united. Divided, the party will fall apart.
I've often wondered what would happen if they joined forces. Would they be unstoppable or would people(registered democrats and independants) rather vote for McCain than put up with one of them?

I agree with that. We need to be united and it's never going to happen.

It's those states own fault that it happened. They broke the rules. The part punished them accordingly. What were they expecting to happen?

No.. It's not the states fault. The voters had nothing to do with what our representatives did.

So.. at the time did we know our representatives were going to do that? What if this happened in your state would you be singing the same note?

It's not the voters fault. Period.

It wouldn't happen in my state, because we constitutionally have the first primary election, anyway. New Hampshire ftw.

But yes, I would.
They elected their Reps. Their Reps broke the rules of their Party. They had been warned, but decided to break them, anyway. Then, they are punished. This is what happens.

It could've been much worse.

Very Happy

The Representatives Never told us what would happen they never told us anything. The DNC might of told the Reps what would happen if they broke the rules but they never told the voter. It's unfair and wrong what happened. they took away my right to choose who I wanted to vote for. This is America. I lost faith in our government and I don't know I will ever get it back.

I highly doubt if you lived in Michigan you would be saying that they did the right thing. I'm sure you would feel just like the millions of voters who got their votes taken away.

I dont speak out much but this is something that I will speak out for. I was wronged. The voters of Michigan and Florida were wronged.

It had been on the News quite a bit that they'd be punished for breaking Party rules. Did the Republican Party say it'd take away delegates for moving up the primaries, too? Or Just the Democratic Party? While you cannot control your Reps, you have control over who becomes your Reps, and there were things you could've done - like making it known to them they you didn't want to move up the primary. But as I had said, the states were warned. Apparently the states just didn't take them seriously enough. It would be silly of the Party not to punish them, because then no one would take the Parties seriously.

No, it was not on tv or else I would have seen it. It was afterward but how is that going to help us? They did not forewarn us about what would happen. If I have control over what happened would this of happened? I don't have a say no more then my dog has a say. If I made it known they still would of moved our primary up. They have the final say. The voters don't.

Then why does it matter so much that your vote didn't count?

But it was publicized. I saw it on News stations, and on Google News, and I believe once on Comcast News. There was a huge fight over it.

Because this is America and my vote should count for who I want it to count for and the DNC should not have the right to go in and take vote from Hilary and give them to Obama.

It was not very publicized here in Michigan.. and that's what counts. I watch quite a lot of news and Never once did I see anything about my votes not being counted until after the primary was already finished. And even if it was on the internet I dont read the news I watch it. and what of the people who don't have access to the internet? Where would/should they go for their news?

Obama and Hillary wouldn't be running for President if the DNC didn't exist - they have every right to punish states however they want. The Party isn't giving votes to Obama though. It's splitting the delegates in half. Like, each one only gets half a vote. Obama isn't gaining any more.

Thats were your wrong. They took votes away from Hillary. By splinting it down the middle they had to.

*Sigh* for my sanity tonight lets agree to disagree. I will be in full swing tomorrow.

It won't make much of a difference, since he's losing some of his too.
But, kk. <3

This is a joke, right? Obama's name wasn't even on the election, and you consider it a right to have all your votes counted? If I was in your shoes, I would've been pissed off to the umpteenth degree - this is voter fraud. You can't throw one name on a ballot and call it an election, then when people realize how ridiculous it is, claim to 'not have your voice heard.' Know who didn't have their voices heard? Obama voters in Michigan - and there were a lot more of them than there were Hillary voters in Michigan.

O! I didn't know he wasn't actually on the Michigan ballot.
..if that's the case, the delegates shouldn't be counted AT ALL.
Wth.

100% true. You get have a say, and they get no say.

And you complain it's unfair?

She didn't get a say. All the votes were split down the middle, so her vote was null and void. And she wasn't just speaking for herself, she was speaking for the DNC as a whole in her state. Obama could have won more votes... but it doesn't matter to anyone who voted for him.
The DNC was punished and really it is the voters, like AngelPotter20 who are feeling the brunt of the punishment. And AngelPotter20 and the other voters had nothing to do with moving the date, but their votes do not matter, anyway.

None of them should have counted, though, if Obama wasn't even on the ballot.

The point AngelPotter20 was trying to make was the whole thing was completely messed up and everyone jumped on her.
