Then, as you know, they turn around to face Fluffy who is glaring at them and about to attack. They were inside that room for quite a while listening to Peeves and Filch before they turned around to see Fluffy. Why didn't Fluffy attack as soon as they entered the room? Possibly because of Peeves' singsong voice, which might have started putting Fluffy to sleep. Fluffy didn't start baring his teeth until after Filch and Peeves had left.
That means nothing. H/R/H had their ears to the door in order to listen to what was going on on the other side. I doubt that the dog could even hear what was happening on the other side of the door.
Plus, it never says that the dog didn't bare his teeth until Peeves went away. Harry couldn't even see the dog since was turned toward the door. The dog was already in a threatening position when the truo turned around. This was directly after Peeves and Filch left. That during that entire conversation between Peeves and Filch, Neville was tugging at HArry's arm, which leads me to believe that that dog was barring it teeth from right after they walked in.
Just because some one at mugglenet thinks it's true, doesn't make it true. Look at all of the things that were believed to be true on the lexicon that just weren't so.
I don't buy it -- not for a second. That one sentence in a singsong voice is not enough to send that dog to sleep. When Harry's flute put him to sleep, it took a minute for that to happen alone. His eyes started drooping from the first note, but he walk in a circle before getting comfortable and made a lot of grunting. It would equally take some time for him to wake up and get his mind around the fact that there are people in the room if he were sleeping. Those kids weren't in there for longer than a minute as it was, because they high-tailed it out of there as soon as they saw the dog. _________________

I'm sorry Gin but I have to agree with zengrenouille on this one. Peeves never really sang that long to keep the dog asleep. I believe the dog was shocked because he wasn't use to guest, besides Hagrid of course, and so he stood there until they moved. Also, before they even turned around Nevil had been bothering Harry while he was trying to listen to the door. So it must mean the dog was staring them down because Nevil didn't make any other moves besides for tugging on Harry's robes. _________________ Peace is a lie. There is only passion.
