Another Friday, another leaked photo from Half-Blood Prince! This time, it's of Snape, Draco, and Filch at Slughorn's party. It looks like they're deep in thought, perhaps pondering how the photo appeared online. Thanks to Potterish and Oclumenciafor this one!

Spoiler:
It looks like its at Slughorn's Christmas party and draco has been caught out of bed. I like the decor but it doesn't seem very slughornish _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer

hahahahaha That made me laugh.
So, during Slughorn's psrty, Harry happened upon Draco and Snape arguing. Surely they didn't make that public.
Actually, I looked at it again, and it looks like Filch found him sneaking around. I bet Snape is letting him off the hook and pissing Filch off. _________________

In the book Filch finds Draco wandering around... and Snape let's him off. So I'm guessing that's what is happening in the picture. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. snape does not let him off. He takes him to a classroom cuz he knows he was working on his mission and he wanted to question him about it. Harry followed with his invisibility cloak. _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer

Well, Slughorn says about how it's Christmas and not a crime to want to come to the party. Then Snape is all, I want to have a word with you, he's the Head of his House, etc. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. yes but you said Snape let him off anyway is that slughorn behind them on the left? not how I pictured him at all. _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer

That doesn't look like Jim Broadbent... but it's hard to tell.... _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice. With pie." ~ Anya <3

lol, I don't even remember him being caught wandering in the book. I just remember that Harry listened in on the conversation between Snape and Malfoy.
Also, I would call it letting Malfoy off. He may have grilled him a bit, but it's not the same thing as taking house points, detention, or letting Filch incorporate some sort of punishment. _________________

Harry inhaled half his mead up his nose as he started to laugh. Really, it had been worth bringing Luna just for this. Emerging, from his goblet, coughing, sopping wet but still grinning, he saw something calculated to raise his spirits even higher: Draco Malfoy being dragged by the ear toward them by Argus Filch.
"Professor Slughorn," wheezed Filch, his jowls aquiver and the maniacal light of mischief-detection in his bulging eyes, "I discovered this boy lurking in an upstairs corridor. He claims to have been invited to your party and to have been delayed in setting out. Did you issue him with an invitation?"
Malfoy pulled himself free of Filch's grip, looking furious. "All right, I wasn't invited!" he said angrily. "I was trying to gate crash, happy?"
"No, I'm not!" said Filch, a statement at complete odds with the glee on his face. "You're in trouble, you are! Didn't the headmaster say that nighttime prowlings out, unless you've got permission, didn't he, eh?"
"That's all right, Argus, that's all right," said Slughorn, waving a hand. "It's Christmas, and it's not a crime to want to come to a party. Just this once, we'll forget any punishment; you may stay, Draco."
Filch's expression of outraged disappointment was perfectly predictable; but why, Harry wondered, watching him, did Malfoy look almost equally unhappy? And why was Snape looking at Malfoy as though both angry and… was it possible?… a little afraid? But almost before Harry had registered what he had seen, Filch had turned and shuffled away, muttering under his breath; Malfoy had composed his face into a smile and was thanking Slughorn for his generosity, and Snape's face was smoothly inscrutable again.
"It's nothing, nothing," said Slughorn, waving away Malfoy's thanks. "I did know your grandfather, after all – "
"He always spoke very highly of you, sir," said Malfoy quickly. "Said you were the best potion-maker he'd ever known…"
Harry stared at Malfoy. It was not the sucking-up that intrigued him; he had watched Malfoy do that to Snape for a long time. It was the fact that Malfoy did, after all, look a little ill. This was the first time he had seen Malfoy close up for ages; he now saw that Malfoy had dark shadows under his eyes and a distinctly greyish tinge to his skin.
"I'd like a word with you, Draco," said Snape suddenly.
"Now , Severus," said Slughorn, hiccoughing again, "it's Christmas, don't be too hard – "
"I am his Head of House, and I shall decide how hard, or otherwise, to be," said Snape curtly. "Follow me, Draco."
They left, Snape leading the way, Malfoy looking resentful.

That's what I meant when I said, Snape let him off. He basically did, I mean, he took Draco away, but it was only to grill him to find out what his mission was.
But yeah, Draco was found outside of his room. Slughorn made it seem like Draco wanted in on the party or something, and tht was the assumed notion in general. But Harry was suspicious he was prowling around for other reasons. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. thats not the same as letting him off though. that makes him sound most unSnapely. it implies he just let him have fun at the party. and anyway you said he was letting draco off...and pissing filch off. but actually filch was pissed because snape wasn't letting filch deal with it, but said he'd deal with it himself. _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer

I didn't say that Filch was pissed about that. _________________ Blame it on a simple twist of fate. ~ Bob Dylan "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice. With pie." ~ Anya <3
Did anyone here read the quote I brought? Slughorn let Malfoy off, and Filch was pissed at him, not Snape. On the contrary: when Snape took him away, Slughorn was telling him not to be hard on Malfoy, since he assumed that Snape was going to punish him. _________________ "I can make things move without touching them.
