Yeah, we all got suspicious when there was no mention of a casting for Marietta.
The thing is, they made a lot of changes to the movie from the book. If they can make Marietta (however you spell her name) obsolete, then they'll figure out a way to get by without Dobby.
I know. I'm assuming they left Dobby out of OotP because he was left out of GoF and I'm assuming he was left out of GoF because they knew they were going to leave out SPEW and Winky. Which annoyed me, as well. Why they couldn't leave Marietta in... well I'll figure that one out as soon as I figure out who Nigel is.
I think I may have figured out the secret of Nigel. check this out, the actor who plays Dudley: Harry Melling (kind of funny his name is Harry) the actor who plays Nigel: William Melling. Obviously some relation to eachother. He probably whined until Harry Melling managed to get him a part in GoF now why they couldn't have just made him Dennis Creevey instead of make up a new name I do not know. Maybe Nigel was the name of his imaginary friend.

That's just it. That's whats so annoying. Why didn't they just call him Dennis? A little blonde boy who's annoying. Obviously he should hae been named Dennis.
The only thing I can come up wth for the name is this (and get ready because I'm reaching here) Nigel is the name of Rupert Grint's father. And it used to be (up until fairly recently, sometime this year) that Rupert's fan mail was sent first to his father who would go through it for him. The character Nigel in the movie brought Ron a package from his mother. Maybe naming him Nigel was some sort of homage or inside joke?
Hey, I warned you it was going to be a reach. _________________ ^made by Fiendfyre
well its better than my imaginary friend theory lol. I wonder if there's anything we could do to find out the real reason...petition? _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer

Thre has to be a way to shake the answer out of them. I mean someone who worked on the movie has to know. Supposedly they all read the books. So somehow had to have asked, "why don't we just call him Dennis?" Or they might all be in on it. Those tricky little buggers. It's the Nigel Conspiracy! _________________ ^made by Fiendfyre

I've never heard this but it actually makes a lot of sense and I wouldn't doubt it in the least if that's exactly what it was. _________________
