I dunno what their scapegoat happens to be, but the real reason those people were 'dishonorably discharged' is because those things are considered unchristian. _________________

which is ironic because of the great examples priests have shown over the years of diddling little boys. _________________

Priests might have thought it was okay because they were a servant of God and they possibly believed he could forgive them for any "Sins" they made.

A better theory is that they think it's ok... oh, I dunno... maybe because the bible doesn't condemn it anywhere? That's right, no two consenting adult men can sleep together, but a man and a boy can have just as much unconsentual sex as they (or one of them for that matter) wants, because according to the bible, that's not a sin. In many parts of the bible, rape is condoned, so I guess the priests think god is cool with it. _________________

sorry for bumping in like this, but i just want to say that i dont think gay rights to marriage should have anything to do with the bible, everybody doesnt believe in it, i dont, and not in any other religion either. If two people love each other, let them get married, no matter what sex they are, what could possibly be the problem? and it makes me happy that most of you guys seem to think its right _________________

Yup! Today, Californians have me perplexed. You assume they are all liberal, but now the majority just voted for the ban and gay marriage is no longer legal. Now the court has to decide what to do about the legal marriages established before Nov. 4th. What a mess. Just let two people of legal age be married!

I, for one, think all gay couples should be as miserable as straight, married ones.
Marriage isn't always mierable, though. _________________

Disgusting how us california's screwed this up.
Of all states, us?
I'm in shock at how this "liberal" state is so homophobic. I tend to lean fiscally conservative, but on social issues I am strongly liberal with the exception of immigration.
Can't believe we outruled this shit. How freakin unconstitutional and flat out wrong. I hope all who voted yes die a miserable death. _________________ "Once again, I must ask too much of you Harry."

I live in California but I'm not sure about the Northern California population being more conservative. I know in the area I'm in most of the people are conservative, but if you drive like ten minutes closer to the water everyone is extremely liberal.
I have a question for anyone who can answer it... flamingmonkey?
I don't understand how prop 8 can be passed? First off it violates the 14th Amendment as well as completely goes against Brown vs. The Board of Education. It's bringing back the concept of 'seperate but equal' that was ruled unconstitutional. I don't see how calling the homosexual form of marriage a domestic partnership and straight marriage a marriage isn't blatantly going against that. _________________
